  1. Where can i find the location for a 51 Cambridge? The reason i ask is it appears a 52 color was used on it. any place that is scratched is the same color under that. This is the 52 color http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?ditzler=41122&con=4&page=1&rows=50&size=large
  2. Oh cool! the builder of mine was after this look. 77 years old and still building.
  3. [quote name="BloodyKnuckles" post="384667" I built a custom '51 Plymouth and drove the wheels off of it with the flathead 6, 6v and stock drivetrain and suspension. I put over 36,000 miles on it and heard the same thing as you. BloodyKnuckles Like to see pics of it.
  4. Came up with an idea. I will add the definition of a 50s custom to the sheet i hang under the hood at shows.
  5. I agree, noone follows the 50s customs. I really get tired with my 51 Cambridge, having people ask wheres the v8 and the show car paint job. They dont understand . Back then you did some engine mods, lowered the rear and shined it up the best you could. The difference with mine is the builder used a built slant 6 to replace the flat head with a hole in the side. And the previous owner removed lowering blocks. Pics in my signature.
  6. Id say no to Scotch guard and keep them clean and out of the sun
  7. http://binghamton.craigslist.org/cto/4667070889.html Put the head lights back where they belong.
  8. Well i judge on the qualty of there work, and that part looks good. Not something id want. Im glad the builder of mine didnt spoil it.He just went crazy with the slant 6 .
  9. Is that a cadillac engine?
  10. The best trophy is when your car makes someone smile and say my dad had one , uncle mom etc. The funnyest one was when an old lady said i had alot of fun in the back seat of one of them. She quickly added when she was 5 on her parents road trip. So 46coupe, have fun and enjoy!
  11. Id say leave the body and interior alone. The rest do as you wish. I'm glad the builder on my 51 did that. I get a load of compliments.
  12. Humm that's what the red rvt was on the rim for when I did brakes
  13. Congrads on your trip. Anyhow look hard at my cowl vent, someone actually painteb ac on on it. Was going to black it out,but gets too many laughs.
  14. Got everything back together, bled them, prayed lol. And she stops straight.thanks for all the help.
  15. Got it! unfortunatly I had to turn the adjuster, hopefully my pics and markings will pay off.
  16. Great advice guys, and thanks. Yes I did read about the pin.
  17. Exactly my plan. Not moving adjustments. Have it marked and photographs. Just need to know how to locate and remove lower hold down so I can replace cylinder
  18. Ok located the upper hold down. Now the lower is a nut with a cotter pin? And I'm supposed to hold the rectangular thing with arrow on it?
  19. Found what I need in the help files
  20. Bingo the lower is weeping. Now i have a shop manual and it is very vague. I have done drum brakes on cars before, nothing like this. So a little step by step removal and instalation would be a great help. Thanks all that helped so far.
  21. Yes that was my next step, i can see more on the photo than the car.
  22. Ok rain stopped finally got the wheel pulled. appears everything was fairly new. Can you find the leak? appears both cylinders look new.
