  1. That's a classic style gasser just waiting to happen.
  2. In nearly 40 years of driving I've only ever had one blowout but it was a dandy. It was in my '67 Dodge PU with a big block and no power steering, so it steered like a log wagon to begin with. It was summertime (no A/C either) and I was on the interstate with the driver's window down and my dog as my passenger. Without warning my RF tire explodes like a cannon sending the truck immediately over to the berm and trying to go into the ditch beyond that, which would have stood a good chance of flipping the truck. Well simultaneously as I'm busy with this, when the tire exploded, the dog had leaped over me in an attempt to exit through my window. I barely caught her with my left arm and she continued to struggle as I fought to keep the truck out of the ditch with only my right arm, the ill-steering SOB fighting me the whole time. Finally slowed to a stop, still on the berm and changed the tire.
  3. Yep, they still make it. http://www.holley.com/0-8007.asp http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/0-8007/10002/-1
  4. Holley makes a 390 cfm four barrel, at least they used to so I would think they still do. It was a spec carb for some racing classes. Also it was frequently used in smaller displacement dual quad applications, particularly on the street.
  5. Except when it's really warm out, I often soak the cans in warm water for awhile before use. For safety, keep it under 120F. Never had a problem and have gotten some very good results that way. Also make sure your work is not cold. I often warm parts in the sun before painting them, if necessary.
  6. Although I've wired cars, trucks, heavy equipment, etc. from scratch I'd highly recommend a plug and play harness if it's available for your vehicle. Although it's not really that difficult to build harnesses, it's time consuming and requires some patience and pre-planning if you want it to come out nicely.
  7. Really. I can't believe that some radio stations start broadcasting Christmas music exclusively starting about Thanksgiving. And I can't imagine too many, even die-hard fanatics being able to take that much of it. Call me a scrooge if you will but most Christmas music really sucks anyway.
  8. That would be closer to reality, '84s just don't bring much. It's the first year and least desirable of the C4s (fourth generation-'84-'96) of Corvettes. I could have bought an '84 last spring for $1,000. It had some body damage but ran very well and came with most of the parts to fix it. The '84s had a lackluster 205 HP engine and suffered from an overly stiff suspension. The '85 was much improved in both respects. Still the '84 was a milestone car that was a vast improvement from the by then very outdated C3 platform. Although I've owned dozens of Mopars and only one Corvette, I admit to being very attached to it. It is after all one of the ultimate boy-toys of all time. And I must confess to being a perpetual adolescent.... Oh and for some perspective, mine's a '95 and currently worth about $6 to 7K at best. If it were a low mileage, all original it would be worth a little more but I've modified it extensively. And I drive the crap out of it, that's all I've ever found that cars are good for.
  9. I've used some of that yellow and blue dum-dum that comes in two parts that you mixed together. I used it on a Dodge Dart I used to have and it held for several years and a lot of miles. By the time it started leaking again I had a spare tank so I just changed it.
  10. Perhaps that's for retraction for when they start approaching the approximate same latitude as the navel......
  11. The little matching boat is just too cool! Back in the late 60s, when they were still in operation, I went through the Midget Motors factory in Athens Ohio. I've always wanted one to putt around in.
  12. Does anyone here perchance own this? What a wonderful and pristine car. Of all places, this was posted on a Corvette forum that I frequent. I know of course that it'll be more fully appreciated here. I hope you enjoy seeing and reading about it as much as I did. http://www.californiaclassix.com/archive/40_Barn-Dodge_c154.html
  13. I checked today. I do not have that number in stock.
