  1. 50 Dodge Lug Nut, Thank you so much for this post. Each and everyone of these men were awesome. I give them Honor today! You brought brought back a lot of good memories with the names mentioned here. I realize how bad the culture has gotten in America, your right in saying America is not the same as it was 70 years ago. But I have faith in America and believe that the people such as these were, will rise up against the existing filth and un Godliness that is so prevelant today. Again thank you. Also be very careful if you pull the cable out inside the interior of your car because the cable is metal and can short out any electrical connections it may flop onto under the dash / gauges.I have seen it happen to a freinds old Ford once. It was not pretty after all of the smoke cleared. Mike
  3. Hello All, My wife watches a lot of Pure Flix movies. I decided to watch one with her. I was quite pleased to see a nice Dodge Pilot House truck in it. The movie stars Sidney Poitier and is very good. So if you get a chance get look it up on Pure Flix. Its called The Last Brick Maker in America. Mike
  4. Yep. Your right, he is dry as toast. I thought the exact same thing when I was inquiring about parts for my DeSoto. I called him one day about rear drums. He did tell me up front he did not think he had any. But he was complaining to me that now he HAD to go spend the time to double check. He seemed to be really bothered about my call. Looking at their site, it states to call about any and all parts if needed. It actually says: " For help NEVER hesitate to call us 9:30-5:30 EST M-F By the way they do not list the brake drums on the site, but they do have a caption saying: "Many brake drums available....Please call.. So I did call, and I was turned off by the lack of customer service. Any company that would go out of their way to at least show an interest in our projects and thank us for considering them as our possible parts supplier would really make me glad I called them even though they did not have the part I needed at that time. I would call them again when something else would be needed. Unfortunately there are so many companies these days that don't care enough about "repeat business". They ARE NO longer freindly, and eager to help customers in need. We are the ONLY reason why they are in business. Ok I'm done now, sorry. Mike
  5. Thanks guys for the help. Casper50 and Dodgeb4ya: Yep I have been watching e-bay every day for vintage heaters and clocks. The heaters are not to badly priced, but the clocks (reconditioned) are way out of my price range. I will pick something up that I can refurbish to save some money. RalphD25cpe: Thank you for the video. Thats exactly what i'm looking for. The video won't play, but it is sitting right were it needs to be. A very good view of the dash. Thanks again, Mike
  6. Hello there everyone in Mopar land, My 1937 DeSoto Coupe has a 37 Chrysler Royal dash in it. At least that is what I believe it is. It also has the Royal front end (grille and fenders). I'm wondering if anyone has any pictures of the optional clocks that may have been installed into the glove box doors? I would like to know if they were mounted in the center of the door, or off to either side of the door? I have included a few pictures of my dash. I am looking for the clock, a radio control unit, and a vintage heater. Thanks for any information. Mike

  9. Hey guys, a few words of CAUTION. Those of us in the Hydrogen Generator industry know that the gases coming off the top of your containers ARE very explosive! The mixture of baking soda and water lit up with electrical current pulls two components out of the water. They are oxygen and hydrogen. The hydrogen can collect in a closed space such as above your rafters in your garage,in an attic etc. Be very careful with any open flames, and or sparks in the area. If your doing it outside or in a very well ventillated area then not to worry. If you doubt me and are the very brave type, take a micro torch or something simular and light the bubbles as they rise up to the top and pop. They will make a loud bang as they are lit with the flame. If the collected gas should be trapped as mentioned above you could have a very large explosion and damage as well as major injuries. There have been some who have blown their garage roofs off after an explosion. One fella in our industry blew up his spare room of the house. Just be safe. As a matter of fact I have some chrome trim on my 1937 Desoto dash, front and rear window garnish moldings I think I will try yourset ups with. My problem is, I will be flaming the bubbles and making very loud machine gun noises as the process removes my rust. Fun, fun, fun.... Again be safe, Mike

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows if a grease tube/hose for the clutch release (throwout bearing) bearing, part # 633286 (found it on ebay while looking for other parts) was an option for these cars or not. If they were, is there a threaded hole in the release bearing housing the tube would screw into to grease the bearing? My release bearing is a little noisy (squeaking). It looks to be in very good shape, however the car sat for quite some time. Thanks for any help on this..... Mike
  11. Guys, After scraping a lot of the grease/dirt from the tranny cases I was able to find these letters and numbers. On the passenger side of the front box is : 4-22-37 WG DIV. T86 -IP. On thepassenger side of the rear box is: 7 - 8, A6, R61. Maybe this weekend I can get some pictures of it. I did locate the speedometer hook-up. Greg you were correct, it was covered up in road gunk.   12. Hello all, my name is Mike. I purchased a 1937 Desoto S3 5 window business coupe this last summer. It needs a lot of work, however it is very cool. The straight six runs real well. I do not have it road worthy yet, but I am working on it. I have not purchased a repair manual for it yet. A few questions: Where does the speedometer drive from? I cannot find anything on the tranny for a cable hook up. The tranny is a 3 speed on the floor. It is made up of two boxes. One in front with the shifter on top. This box has its own fill plug, level plug and drain plug. The rear box also has a fill plug, level plug as well as a drain plug. Why the two boxes? What type of oil should be used in the tranny? On the rear box is the parking brake drum and linkage on the right side. It also has another linkage set up on the same side, but directly accross the tranny is a small threaded shaft with a nut on it sticking out of the left side. This short shaft has flats on it as if it is to have a lever attached to it. What would this shaft be for? Thank you for any help/insight you may have.... Thank you, Mike
