  1. not a peckat but I say put one on.
  2. I've been messing with getting the brake lines run, new MC and bleeding them. Front caliper banjo bolts would not seal. Went through 3 sets of copper crush washers before I bought new bolts which finally did the trick. Installed the two rear door panels.
  3. I was given this T shirt in the last few weeks.
  4. For unique you can't beat a 50 Studebaker.

  6. I can understand that. But to be honest if you have a small welder it doesn't take much more time than making patches to rivet in and mud over. But it does take a longer.
  7. I bought mine from Moose. It was tight but doable. Even managed to get the heat shield in place.
  8. Nick here's two photos of some of the large amount of metal I replaced.
  9. I only use mud as a skim coat to fill low places. Cover the whole thing then sand almost all of it off.
  10. Good choice Nick. lol As you say you don't want to have to do it again after your hard work the first time.
  11. Nick Adam is correct. Mudding over it won't stop the rust. Sorry.
  12. I really like that split rear seat. Gives you more options.
  13. See Nick. If you think about what you have to do before doing it, it isn't all that hard. Good work.
  14. Paul if you're speaking about mine it isn't. I only have 1 message in there.
  15. I bought my 6 volt positive ground 1 wire alt off of ebay.
  16. truthfully this is the only car that I've seen that if I owned it I would also most likely not paint it. Patina paint isn't my thing at all but this VW just screams "Hippie". I might even try and match the fender and running boards to the rest of the car. If I was going to sell it I'd also paint it.
  17. Not cheap by any means. I made my own for the 55 Pontiac but had to buy this set due to the T shaped rubber. https://www.moparmall.com/20-pc-Molded-Body-Mount-Set-for-1938-1948-Plymouth-p/301-048_a.htm
  18. put an X in the middle of the square. From driver a pillar to pass b pillar and pass a pillar to driver b pillar. Keeps it from swaying.
  19. Hopefully before summer's end. This waiting on parts is getting old.
  20. Finally received some parts ordered on 28 March.
  21. the 55 has new shoes and the hood ornament lights up.
  22. There's a ton of those here in Alaska. Most are just rotting away.
