  1. Well, I managed to get myself in a jam again, Hmmmm, Ay Yi yi, yi yi. This time its with the steering componants on my 50 Ply SD. Took em off to put new tie rods and disc brake kit on. The brakes come out wonderfull, Now I have the idler arm and steering arms mixed up. HOW DOES THE IDLER ARM GO ( PART NUMBER UP OR DOWN ) Looking from the front of the car, on the drivers side, where it attaches to the spindle, I have the tie rod facing down (nut down) where it attaches to the idler arm I have the tie rod nut facing up. Looking at the passenger side from the front, where it attaches to the spindle I have the tie rod facing up ( nut up ) and where it attaches to the idler arm I also have the nut up.. Need help here. Also, where these arms attach to the idler arm, do these steering arms cross each other..If any of you guys can explain this setup I would appreciate it I'm at an IMPASSE until then, Thanks Stan
  2. Anyone have a good shock swap, sure would appreciate any input, Thanks Guys
  3. Its done, Jeep rotors and celebrity caliper and brakes. Pretty simple and straight forward, cadilac brake hoses, challenger bearin in back and a other Chrysler model for the front bearing about 600 or 650 for all
  4. Is there another bolt on wheel that will fit my 50 Plymouth
  5. Do you drop it from Spindle front section or drop the pin in the rear part of the control arm. Want to change the coils out. All ready to go but not sure how, thanks, Stan
  6. Called Bierbaum, They said 2 tie rods are left hand thread and 2 are right hand thread, beside that, they are the same. Replace each with their respected thread and its a go. Springs are white mark Down. Good info for future use to somebody. Have a good day, Stan
  7. Which is Upper, Also New Springs have White Mark on One Side, I presume that's the Bottom, Just Don't Know, Stan
  8. Which is Which, upper Red Lower Green or Vise Versa, Also got my Springs in, is the White Marked Side going up or down, Just Don't Know, Thanks, Stan
  9. I sincerely appreciate everyones input on replacing the Coil Springs on my 50SD project. It aint fun getting hurt. I already got punched in the jaw by the trunk mounting spring bracket, spittin blood for 2 days. I don't mean to seem like a complete idiot however those of us who never did something that could hurt us sometimes appear to be. I have the motor out, fenders off, COMPLETELY stripped frame. I ordered a set of coils from Bierbaum, due in a few days. After answered posts and a little research I find it better to use a spring compressor along with a floor jack for this project.. NOW, my new question is WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO DROP THE LOWER CONTROL ARM, DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE SPINDLE, ETC, and AT WHAT POINT WILL THE SPRING FLY. JUST DONT KNOW, Thanks Stan
  10. Just found a broken Coil Spring while getting ready for a front end restore on my 50 Ply SD. Never did this before but if I drop the lower control arm will these springs fly and create a dangerous situation for me, Thanks Guys
  11. Im not with the vehicle right now and so cant tell, my question is how many tie rod ends are there and how many ball joints are there on this vehicle, I have the Plymouth Service Manual but it doesn't mention it and I would like to order a steering kit for my project. Also if you could direct me to a good supplier I would preciate it. Thanks guys, Stan
  12. I would like to convert my 50 SD to Scarebird Disc Kit, seems to be easier than drill and tap spindle optional kits. My question is ARE ALL 50 PLY SD Vehicles 3 BOLT SPINDLE an 10 INCH BRAKE DRUM Seems this kit requires this, Thanks for any help, Stan
  13. OK, It looks like if I fiqure some where down the road I may have to change water pump or pulley or something else in front that requires room for working with tools, etc and if I give myself enough working space I should get away with it, even if I have to work the firewall a little?
  14. Yeah Don, Its a small 318, shoulda mentioned it. So it looks like if I keep it back enough to change a belt I should be good to go?
