  1. Thanks everyone, and yes it has a 350 stuck under the hood.
  2. Hey all,Been a while since I posted anything, been really busy getting a new garage built and working on the 50.Finally got it to the point I can ride.I'm still needing to finish the interior and wipers but over all it's about done,if that's ever possible!
  3. Nice truck, looks like you got a good solid truck to start with which should help alot.Keep posting, enjoy seeing the progress.
  4. After fighting with that lock all day yesterday,I went back at it with new hope this morning after all the great advice I recieved and in less than two minutes the lock was laying in my greedy hands. Two good wacks and the set screw popped right off. Thanks for the help and all the tool talk was interesting too! 5. Thanks Jeff,I soaked it over night and most of the day then ground a screw driver down to fit,but it just kept twisting the end off the screw driver. It's just such an awkward place to get to.I would use a stick of dynomite but the door is to good to waste.
  6. Thanks.but I'm not sure if I'm following you.You say break off the stub,is the stub your talking about is where the slotted screw is located? And if so how do you get to it to break?Thru that 1/2in hole are from the bottom of door where I removed the door panel?
  7. Ok, Mr Stupid has another question, lol.I have been trying to figure out how to remove the door lock from the passenger side door on this 52 I bought yesterday.I'm old and about blind which doesn't help to start with and the location is a pain to get to.I see there's a small hole on the side of the door and it appears there's a slotted screw in the side of the lock which is froze solid. Is this how the lock assembly comes a part or am I going in the wrong direction?Any help would be appreciated.I really want that lock!
  8. Yep the spare tire and carrier are still there.along with the key still in the ignigion. It's a 1/2 ton short wheel base.Showing 17446 miles, not sure if that's correct or not.
  9. Just a few small parts that I'm missing and hope to find a new home for the rest of it.
  10. I meant to say original mirro but I can't seem to spell
  11. One more saved from the crusher! Can't believe I found this sitting all alone at the junk yard waiting on it's turn to be crushed,it looked so sad I just had to bring it home with me.Plus it has all the missing parts I need.I'm thinking 51 or 52 but yall tell me.No motor or trans but cab is solid except floor boards,Fenders not bad either, running boards seem solid, just bent up some. And could someone tell me if thats an original rear view mieeor on the drivers door? All the hubcaps are there with just a few slight dings. What do tou think guys?
  12. Ok thanks, that's kinda along the lines I was thinking but then I would run across a picture showing a 2 bar grill and saying it was a 1950.
  13. Hi everyone,I got a question that I have been trying to figure out and I guess I'm just to dumb on the subject to do it on my own.But here goes.I have heard that the 1948 thru 1952 is the same body style but I keep seeing two different grills. My 50 has the three grill bars with narrow slits, then I see some that has one big opening with a double bar across the opening and the parking lights are in the bar itself. What is the difference between the two?
