  1. It is always fun getting a new project! That looks like it will be a good one to work on. More photos when you can! good luck
  2. Welcome to the site! Use these old schoolers for info, and lets see some pics
  3. I would call someone with a flatbed truck that has a winch to pull it up with onto the bed. Much easier and safer. I had to do the same thing recently! If you dont have access to a flatbed i would go with a tow dolly also! good luck.
  4. It worked Ed, thank you . I will see how it looks inside the walls of the cylinders.
  5. Ok thanks, I will try it and see what happens. Appreciate it
  6. Thanks Ed, do you know the proper way to take them apart sir?
  7. Ok Gents, I just picked up a rebuild kit for both wheel cylinders at NAPA and was wondering if anyone has rebuilt these before? I probably should have just purchased new wheel cylinders but i saw they had rebuild kits also so i went with that. As the picture shows i took the 2 wheel cylinders off and was wondering how in the heck you get all of those parts into each small wheel cylinder? The new kits came with a diagram that shows where each part goes but how do you get into the cylinder with out doing damage to the walls? I purchased a wheel cylinder honing tool. Inside the boots when i pulled them off was a lot of crud. A rust colored fluid came out everywhere when i took them off the car and when i had them on the work bench the clear new fluid that i put in came out of the cylinder. I appreciate your help! I may just buy 2 new wheel cylinders and call it a day but was wanting to know what luck you have had using the kits for rebuilds.
  8. Sounds like it will be awesome man, and post the progress with us! good luck
  9. Creedmoor is the same. Only 2stop lights down town and a couple of more pharmacys popping up as usual. There are some old school guys in the area. Kind of tight nitched around here also. There are a lot of back roads to drive on around here though. I won't be driven anytime soon though as I keep on having issues with the car. Wheel cylinder went out today. Is what is it!!
  10. I did check on the master cylinder and it was missing the pull back spring for the brake pedal. I was able to make one yesterday and she is back working again. Thanks for all of your help!
  11. Looking on eBay to see if I could match it up it looks like the brake pedal pull back spring. What do you guys think?
  12. Gents, I need help identifying this spring. I was putting on a new high beam switch and crawled under the car and found this spring laying there. Story of this build i tell you!! It is 8 inches long and found on the floor below the steering column area. Doesn't mean that it didn't come off something in another area, but i am trying to give you as much as i can as i know this is a dumb question. Could use your help! thanks
  13. I did a quick internet search for you and found this! http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=225425&tn=0 Mountain Climbing back in the day maybe
  14. There are search forums for engine identification. Not sure about France, but it would be worth a shot. Also did you check for any other numbers around the block? This may guide you also! The Ford casting number always starts with the 'Decade' letter'. Ford started using this structure in the late 50's with the first letter being 'B'. Not sure if its a Ford, because ford casting numbers are usaully 3 groups of numbers. Let us know what you find out.
  15. First welcome to the forum! I am also running a negative ground system in my 48 P-15. I used the same wrining diagram that was posted and it went fine. My 48 also came like this and it was a pain to diagnose. Always ask these questions on this site because these guys have been around these cars and issues for a long time. I am really not sure why the last owner of mine went to negative either but i know i have to keep it in the back of my head with solving any issues relating to this topic on my P-15. Thanks
