  1. Hi; I got my front shackles from Roberts and they were the c style for a B3B and the rear look the same style, but they were less than $40.00 each, might want to try Gary and see.----Ken
  2. Howdy all; I'm looking to install a 6 blade cooling fan inplace of the existing 4 blade fan on my 1952 B3B flat head 6, has anyone got a idea where I might locate this critter---thanks, Ken
  3. Howdy All; I bought a pair from Obsolete Classic Ford parts in Oklahoma City, OK. for $5.00 and change for the pair, same item was used on Dodge----Ken
  4. Jack, I can tell you of my experience with the fuel gauge and sending unit in our 52 pilot house, I purchased a new sending unit from Robert's and installed it and it read full all the time the key was on. so I contacted Dan Ohora in Seneca Falls, n.y. phone number 315-712-0071, and told him how mine was working, so he asked me to send him the gauge and sending unit, and he would get to the bottom of the problem. in a few days he called and said he found the problem, it seems in the 40's and 50's Chrysler engineers did alot if experminting with resistance, they built some units that were 0-78 ohms resistance, some units that were 0-100 ohms resistance and some units that were 0-200 ohms resistance. In my case the unit from Roberts was 0-78 ohms resistance, but my gauge was 0-200 ohms resistance, so the two would not pear up. so the end of the story was that he built a 0-200 ohms sending unit to match my gauge, sent them back and I installed them and all works fine. now you know that part, I hope maybe it's of some help to you, what I've found we won't live long enough to learn it all the hard way--good luck---Ken
  5. Sorry Keven---went on the search and typed in changing front spring -rear shackles, and the reply was NO RESULTS FOUND----Ken
  6. Howdy All; getting about ready to tackle changing the front spring rear shackles!!!!any good trouble saving tips you folks can offer??--thanks, Ken
  7. Thanks all for your input---NAPA was the answer, they matched them up and all is well.---thanks, Ken
  8. Hi All; where can I purchase new or replcement door hinge pins? both upper and lower for both sides, for 52' pilot house---thanks, Ken
  9. thanks guys for the info--I understand the large consence is in the sending unit, so now my question is, when I get back to it and I do find the sending unit to be at fault, WHERE can I purchase a sending unit other than Roberts?? and J.C. Whitney no longer carries a unit, said the company price got higher than they were selling them for. really don't want to put a cork on a wire and let it float up and down for a gauge---Ha Ha!---thanks Ken
  10. Howdy all--I need some advice from those wiser than I.--my fuel gauge was reading fulll all the time, and I had the orginial sending unit in the tank. so I ordered a sending unit from Roberts, a nd when it arrived I put it on the bench to check the resistance and it was dead, so I called Roberts and they sent out another, meantime I opened up the first sending unit and the pole coil looked like a slinky in it, so tells me why it was dead. so when next unit arrived I put it on the bench and it checked out fine 13.4 ohms on low and 88.3 on high, so then I took a dowel stick and thru the sending unit hole in tank I checked the depth of gas to varifiey gauge accuracy when install and the depth was at a 1/2 tank, so I installed the sending unit and ran new 14 gauge wire to the empty side of gauge, and new 10 gauge wire from ignition switch to full side of gauge, this should eliminate any defective wires do to age, so then turned on key and guess what???still reads full and when key is off reads empty--I should add this is on a 1952 B3B , sorry about that. what do you reason to be the problem???Thanks--Ken
  11. right hand pilot house sun visor on E-bay being sold in Kansas---Ken
  12. howdy, i'am thinking of changing my vacuum windshield wiper on my 52 B3B for electric, so I need help from you folks wiser than I, my question is--can I leave the existing linkage, arms and so forth, and just change out the vacuum motor for a 6 volt electric motor and be back in operation?? thanks--Ken
  13. sorry DesotaDav, the truck is in the barn in Michigan, and we're in the valley(about 5 miles from Mexico) in Texas for the winter, just trying to tye up some loose ends during the winter months---but I did talk to a young lady at Roberts and she said to me that the mat is like the orginial, but you have to cut the slots for the pedals and shifter, the mat comes with the backing pad, sells for $80.00 plus $25.00 freight anywhere in the USA---all the info I have at this point---Ken
