  3. Goodday Gentlemen, I would like to find a source for window guide channel for my '48 3 window pilot house truck. Thanks
  4. Milling or decking a flathead motor is tricky. Yes you can raise compression , but you can reach a point that air flow in and out of the cylinder is reduced enough to cause a power loss. And if you port or relieve the block from the valves to the cylinder the compression is reduced again. I had good luck my 217 plymouth with a fenton aluminum head, intake and headers. I used 2 stock carbs and the power increase was good. I hope this helps
  5. Good afternoon , I am looking for the threaded bushings that go in the rear leaf spring shackles where the rear shackle and leaf spring eye meet. Are the left and right sides the same ? Thanks.
  6. I put 2 pictures of my 2700 mile vacation in the Members Gallery. One picture is of the truck on the suspension bridge at Royal Gorge, colorado. It's 1300 ft to the bottom of the gorge !!! The other picture is the suspension bridge itself. Later, Ron Schmitt
  7. I drove the truck on interstates mostly at 70-75 mph. I installed a 1988 dodge 318 , auto trans and dodge E-body 8 3/4 rear end with 2.76 gears. My front suspension is a transverse torsion bar set-up from a dodge Dipolmat. I am trying to put a few pictures on here soon. We went to the N.S.R.A. Rocky Mountain Nationals in Pueblo, Co..I saw another '48 with a Desoto hemi.

  10. Just finished a 2700 mile road trip out west in my '48 B1B.We went to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Nationals. My truck has a complete late model dodge drive train. We went from southern Illinois to Pueblo, Co. , Durango, Co., New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and home. We had no problems and got 19 plus miles per gallon. People love these Dodge Pilothouse Trucks.
  11. Gentlemen, What did dodge use for the filler between the top of the front fender and cab ? What can I use as a substitute ? My truck is a '48 b1b. Thanks
