  1. A little pissed today, the guy never called me to take a look at the Old's! The search goes on. Weird they deleted it, they said it was an off topic vehicle. Don, if I had the space I would probably do that. Thanks again guys
  2. Thanks for the advice guys, ill let you know the condition of the car and my decision once I inspect the car. If you have anymore input please let me know.
  3. Hey Guys! it's been a while since I've been on here. As you know,a few months back I sold my 50 Plymouth and bought a 77 Vette. The Vette is auto and has a L48 with 89,XXX miles on it. It has some paint flaws and bubbling in areas but shines real nice. I installed new tires, front brake lines, aluminum radiator, alternator and a bunch of other cosmetic things. The Vette isn't my dream car so I decided to put my feelers out and see if anyone was up for a trade. A friend of a friend offered me a 4 door 1954 Old's 88. It has the original (rebuilt) V8 engine and 3 speed auto tranny. New interior, all new brakes, all mechanics redone, car redone as original except for new ss wheels and tires, he also has the original wheels and skirts. I haven't seen the car in person yet, going to look at it tomorrow. He stopped by my place today to take a look at the Vette and liked it. What do you think? Should I do it? What's the market like for one of these if I decide to sell it or do another trade? If I end up not going through with the deal, anyone looking for a nice 77 Vette?
  4. As you all know my 50 Plymouth was sold, I wanted to post a pic of my new ride for now. It doesn't need much work but I plan on sprucing up some items on it over the winter and maybe sell it in the spring. Or I may keep it, not sure yet 1977
  5. Hey Dan, glad you joined the forum! Great group of people on here. I found some more items besides the gaskets to give you, when I get some free time ill let you know and we can get together. Keith
  6. I had many midnight snacks at the sunrise diner back in the day. Popular spot to eat after hitting the local bars. I grew up in Wantagh and now live a half hour east in Smithtown. Traffic can be a real pain all over the island
  7. Yes, they are nice but most are out of my price range. Doesn't have to be a porsche, maybe a nice MG, Healey or even a 1950 XK 120 (replica)
  8. Been looking to get a 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster (replica)
  9. Hey Guys, I'm sad to say that I'm looking to move on to another project and sell my Special Deluxe Club Coupe. Most of you know the history of the car from my many posts on the forum. The engine has under 300 hours on it since the rebuild and runs like a top. Here is a link to my engine rebuild thread: http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=23856 If you do a search of my posts you can see what has been done with the car. If anyone is interested and has questions please email me @ aero3113@optonline.net I'm willing to listen to any reasonable offer.
  10. I can't find my other post but here is one. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=17960&highlight=Drum+removal
  11. Do a search for drum removal and you will come across my threads and the issues I had removing a drum. Just stick with it, a lot of heat and banging and it will come off.
  12. It's a 1950, yes they are the same measurements.
  13. Yes, I had a spare drive shaft with good boots. I might send the old one out to get a modern drive shaft made out of it.
  14. I bought the 2 row and it cools just fine, the radiator came with the bracket welded on. I bought it a while ago, I think this was it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/49-50-51-52-Chrysler-Dodge-Desoto-Car-Aluminum-2-ROW-Champion-Radiator-EC52PLY-/170900222725?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1950|Make%3APlymouth&hash=item27ca727305&vxp=mtr

  18. Are you sure you didn't move your distributor 180? If you did all you will get are some pops. You want the rotor at the 7 o'clock position when the #1 cylinder is at top dead center.

  22. Hey guys, I sold my boat and bought my dream boat all in the same day Only issue is that my new (used) boat came with a Garmin 182c GPS with a cracked screen. It looks like Garmin doesn't support this GPS anymore. Anyone know of any repair shops that can do this work? Or maybe have a 182c receiver laying around for sale?
