  1. Probably be good insurance if it would drop down....Thanks
  2. Do you ever sleep? Always on the go---if I lived next door we could crack a car out a week--LOL:D
  3. Good point---some areas I put down some rust proof paint. From the factory they used that tar undercoating---when you scrape that up it usually looks clean. The Dynamat seals real good. Anyway by the time it could give any trouble the new owner can worry about it---I will be long gone:D
  4. Got all the trunk and back seat area cleaned up and new seam sealer put down---start to put the Dynamat down in the trunk first and move to the back seat......Lee
  5. The "Kid" has got one rear door in primer---one more rear door to go and some small stuff to prep and the main body will be in primer. I finally got the Ford rear housing back with the new perches and disc brake brackets---couple of pics of that----moving along.....Lee
  6. Here are some pics of the Dynamat on the roof----little tricky with the 24x48 pieces.Headliner goes in on Aug.6th---pics when done......Lee
  7. It has been really hot up here--in the 100`s---garage time has been limited some what. Did manage to weld in the strip to hold the rubber seal for the lower part of the tailgate and a few pics of some Bill Hirsch rust paint on the underside. Working on two cars at the same time---don`t tell the "Kid" but I would rather finish up the interior on LuLu right now---to many irons in the fire---hope to keep a balance as the "Kid" is hot to get his in paint by winter........Lee
  8. If I remember did some of the belts have a retractor for both sides---would this work? Even if you had to modify by re-sewing the ends--then the floor placement would not be as big an issue.......Lee
  9. Maybe if you rubbed enough the swelling would go down:D
  10. Got 8 of the pieces today from French Lake Auto Parts---all set for the installers---he set me back till Aug. 6th---he got behind two weeks---oh well.
  11. I figured I would have to put an extra plate plus the anchor plate, the sheet metal is one layer there. Thanks for the tip.......Lee
  12. Input--ideas on location of seat belts---how many inches spacing. Pics of seats show the foot shelf and if you ran them in the space between the seats you lose that area----no big loss.Would have to do some creative cutting of some sort to slot them ---the curved part above the foot rest is metal. Just trying to have a nice and neat install. Looks like you will see them any which way you do it.Maybe go thru gap between the seats down thru the foot rest towards the inside? Pics of what you did?
  13. No subs---don`t want a giant boom box---could be that an old guy like me could use a younger guy to crawl around under the dash. Thought of flush mount speakers on the rear shelf and speakers in the kick panels....thanks for the offer, I may give you a call.......Lee
  14. Scaping up the old tar stuff and paint---will be putting down new seam sealer and some rust paint--then the Dynamat.I am going to make this as quiet as possible. Since I sold my streetrod I thought I would finish the interior with the new headliner, carpet and a nice radio and speakers. Winter project will be a 700R. Taking out the T-5---need surgery on my left knee---this will make driving a little easier..............Lee
  15. All the wiring thats there is good---I have replaced everything else---good idea anyway.
  16. I will be replacing the headliner on LuLu (52 Windsor)---when I took the liner down with the bows I noticed the second bow back from the windshield didn`t have this insert like the rest (silver colored). I was wondering if this was to be this way or should all the bows have them? I do have some coming if need be---would still like to know to show the installers.....Thanks.....Lee
  17. Did some trail fitting on the tailgate---all is figured out and some bending and tweeking on one hinge so it tucks in closer when you close the gate. Will leave it on till I finish the rest of the interior for primer. The "Kid" is doing the doors at his shop---zeroing in on color---maybe before the snow flies. Darn left knee is giving me trouble and may need some work too. Had a MRI on it today---see what the Doc will say in a couple of days. Fix the tear---still have Arthur-I-tis--shoot ya full of chicken juice---keep movin on!
  18. Ed, made all three days---sold the streetrod on Friday and drove LuLu Sat&Sun---did a lot of walking around--bought a California cover for LuLu---the only old car I have now--went to the swap and picked up some small stuff----did you see the 34 Caddy----what a cool looking car--love the lines---would make a great rod----but---$20,000---did I win the lottery? Next year we should exchange cell#s and at least meet up for a pic of all of us up in Cold Country.................Lee
  19. Be there all three days---will be on the island by the Snelling entrance---look for my 37 Chev--may drive the 52 Chrysler Sunday......Lee
  20. To me it is about the WOW factor--to do what you wanted to do to a engine when you were a kid and couldn`t afford it. Plus we do it because we can and it is fun.
  21. I was sure I sent one home with you---let me check and will check for the other parts---we be BUSY this week for BTTF car show....later...........Lee
  22. What are the chances there would be two OT threads on Novas---I like the 67 the best-----let us know how the body work turns out----pics......Lee
  23. Little steps tonite---the "Kid" showed up and finished the mud work on the rear pillars where we welded the roof on. On to the rest of the interior for prep for paint. Taking the rest of the week off to get ready for "Back to the Fifties"----yahoooooo......here are some pics of the pillars and a pic of the "KID" painting the car:D...........Lee
