  1. The "Kid" started blocking the roof and I got the firewall ready for primer----who is that "masked man" ?
  2. Tonite I got the car ready for the blocking and primer for tomorrow. Took out the steering column--has to come out in one piece----what a pain it would be if the engine was in---it comes out the bottom. Had to torch the pitman cause any which way it would not separate. Took the front clip off ( Houston we have separation) and put on some pegs with casters I made up last nite. Closer to the trip to the shop for paint.......Lee
  3. Will do---haven`t added anything---not to much to begin with---try and take a pic.....Lee
  4. Houston......the Nova has landed............
  5. Thursday the "Kid" came and we got the rear quarters, dash, inside pillars and the tailgate frame area done in primer surfacer. We did use some etch primer on the bare metal and three more coats of primer. I will then drop it down on it`s tires for the first time in a year. We will block the roof and then shoot the final coats of primer. We will then block it the final time and off to his shop for final color---ya-hooooo.
  6. Here is a pic using the old original clamp on the shaft.
  7. Don is correct on the outside shaft length with the Hei---the one I had made you still had to turn down the dizzy shaft like the stock piece to clear the crank throws......I used a dizzy from an inline Chev six.....Lee
  8. There is a guy on the Inliners forum that is building one--a 413
  9. Thanks again Randy, you have been most kind.....Lee
  10. Sat. is our Church festival and I put on a car show (St. Boni Car Show) this is our 17th year---I have been getting 225-250 cars---great food, games for the kids and some great bands---90th & 10 Ave in Bloomington. It`s over at 6:00 PM so won`t make it.......Lee
  11. Got some more Bill Hirsch rust paint down---the "Kid" has just about done with the blocking (again) I think we are getting close---dash and all pillars are ready for primer too----Nice to have it in paint before Oct. 31---the day it came home last year----would be a great feeling to be this far this soon......Lee
  12. This weekend---got the rear end in the car----installed longer wheel studs--checked to see how the rotors and calipers fit and tire clearance--Do-Da-Day
  13. Got the rear springs in---housing maybe tonite----gotta fix my Honda first---won`t start---"Kid" comes tomorrow--more final blocking on the quarters---he`s getting real picky---paint soon.....Lee
  14. Last pic----the CB-------------see ya in the spring for more pics.......Lee
  15. Headliner, trunk and pics of the front speaker---amp and 8" sub in trunk---radio in glove box---CB hanging lower dash center. Very happy with whats done so far. Will do interior carpet after installing the 700R and welding in some plates for seat belts---pics for that in the spring. Was nice to put the front and rear inside window trim in----How come the holes moved an inch since I took them out????
  16. Did manage to get some more paint on the underside---oh ya I cracked a couple of ribs from a fall at work:(---along with the knee surgery getting down has been a bit of a challange. So have decided to work topside for awhile---got some Bill Hirsch rust paint down after the removing the old seam sealer on the pass side---some progress is better than none:D......just a reminder pic of how far this wreck has come:eek:......Lee
  17. Latest---the "Kid" is doing the final blocking on the car to ready for final color---installed a larger guide bolt on the springs to match the hole on the perch--the smaller bolt just seemed small ---5/16 to 1/2---bigger is better and got the hubs back with the metric pattern for the wheels
  18. Frankie, the biggest reason for my R&P was for the PS--shortening the lower arms did not present a problem---so I do get lock to lock. But remember I left my ride height the same as stock so I didn`t have any other issues to deal with---such as lowering the car. It works fine, well worth the investment. It ain`t for everybody and I felt trying to find--rebuild--install factory PS wasn`t worth the effort. Cost wise, I am sure I have a few more bucks than going stock---to me it was a better choice to upgrade....Lee
  19. Well I did go with a small 8" sub in the trunk---good fill to round out the custom front kick panels---two very good 6" and tweeters--sounds very nice----that way I didn`t have to put any speakers in the rear deck---pics of that later......thanks Lee
  20. Waaaayyyyy cool---steady she goes on that camera---nice job ! !
  21. Well I got the whole trunk finished and the rear deck. That is all I will get done---going to Clear Lake Iowa for a car show and when we get back I need to get the car to the shop for the headliner. I did treat myself and had the radio and CB installed---nice to have tunes and a CB to keep up with the guys on a cruise. Pics of the headliner and radios next trip......Lee

    New guy

Lookin good! I am a sucker for red---that SBC will make it scream...nice work.....I bet you can`t wait to hear it run..........Lee
  23. You need the bracket to hang the caliper on---all these kits do need some tweeking to make them work. This on needed to have 3/8" taken from the bracket radius so the caliper sat farther down on the rotor---the piston on the caliper needed a spacer so it would work and the face of the spacer needed 65 thou taken off---look at the pics----small things my race buddy noticed---he fixed all that before he welded up the housing. He has the jig for the housing and a tig welder---I didn`t want to take a chance on any warpage---for the little it cost me---let the pro do it. Thanks for kudos...Lee
  24. Some progress---my knee surgery slows me down---but we did manage to get some more of the underside painted---got the axles painted with Bill Hirsch rust paint---got the Ford nine inch housing sanded, primed and painted--I thought that wasn`t to bad for an old fart with a bum leg--lol:D
