  1. The "Kid" came by tonite and we got the pass side done----1st pic---ready--tape---etch primer----primer surfacer----left to do---tailgate area---dash and interior. Gettin closer.....pics
  2. Fred,---www.tubesandmore.com these guys are out of AZ---they have a lot of antique electronics......Good Luck
  3. Are you retired now or could there be another Big Race in your future? I have heard there is a formidable opponent in Cold Country Minnesota---is there any truth to these rumors?
  4. I think your sweetie pie wouldn`t go for it----plus you have more projects to do than me...LOL:D
  5. The "Kid" changes his mind every week---when it gets close to finish---wait and see. I thought of a burnt orange with a cream top--------his car his call---my money LOL:D:D:D
  6. We decided to wait two weeks this time---the work to be done was small, so things didn`t look much different. The "Kid" was tuning the little stuff to his liking. Some small sanding on some glazed areas and ready for primer. Want to get it done---the humidity starting to climb and it`s a bear painting in the garage when it`s sticky.............here is what we got.............Lee
  7. My 265 with the T-5 and 4:11 gears---at 70 2600---at 60 2300
  8. Bob, I had a similar problem with my conversion---the clutch disc would not slide back far enough on the splines to disingage the clutch disc.It ran out of travel as the splines taper up. I ended up reversing the hub on the disc.I had to go back to my clutch guy to do this. The high side usually faces the tranny---I had it going into the engine side---the crank hole on my 265 had the room---I don`t know if yours is the same---hope this helps......Lee
  9. Marty, the new C/W langdon sells, both barrels are the same---it`s the Holley/Webers that have the larger secondaries---the only problem with those is he can`t say that the carbs match as they are used, and the chokes are different (?)---lest my memory is off----and it usually is---I guess--LOL:D
  10. 40P10---if you noticed when you picked up the engine, the Chrysler has the twin Carter/Webers from Langdons---he sells the adapters to mount these on your Ellis. With 70 thou off the head--bored 40 over and a re-grind on the cam---the C/W work fine---if anything they might run a little lean at WOT. I took them out of the boxes and put them on and have zero problems since. I did run those on that engine you have and they ran just fine. Granted I had my intake made by Moose to match the C/W bases---bet is with the adapters it will run OK.........Lee
  11. The oil pump tang on the Chev dizzy just has to be filled down a bit to fit the oil pump. Triming down the housing was no big deal---just put it on the lathe and took off the collar on the housing so it would slid in farther. The stock plate hold down works the same. The only thing was to re-curve the dizzy to the flattie specs----this I had done by a buddy that owned a tune up shop. He had done it on his 38 Ply and we just copied his idea. Picked up the dizzy at a U-Pull-It for $20 bucks---his help was free and I think I had about $50 bucks total in it. Cheaper than Langdon`s and I think a better product---I just didn`t like Toms Hei...my 2cents.....Lee
  12. I used the inline six set-up from Chebby---I also like the slant six conversion. I like my set up for the easy access--plus I have the room in the engine bay----the slant six conversion my be better for the smaller bays----- We do it because we can..........Lee
  13. Had to work on it tonite as the "Kid" has doings Thursday. More mud and picking---may see primer next week if all goes well. Still need some tailgate work and some inside pillar mud work and some patch welding----getting very close to having the whole main body ready for color---exciting time! Far from this last pic.........
  14. Very good!!! But then back to reality LOL my back window reminder LOL
  15. Welcome to the T-5 club---nice work and the overdrive is so nice for cruzin those highway speeds. I used the Wilcap adapter and couldn`t be happier with the results.
  16. Bob---40P10 came up from Aurora Illinois to pick up my 265 and assorted parts. He is going to fit this big block into his 40---with the extra cubes and ponies it should push his baby around nicely. We talked car talk while we loaded him up and had a nice time. Glad to help him out and hope you had a safe trip home. Looking forward to your progress reports during the build thanks......Lee
  17. Thursday nite is "Kid" nite. We worked on the lower panel and still have a little more tweeking to do----it is going better than the drivers side---as said should be in primer by the 1st of June........thanks for looking......Lee
  18. I tried the Langdon and did not like how close it was to the engine block----hard to adjust timing. I feel he has to much slop in the tang to the oil pump---the mechanical advance would tend to move on the marks. I went with the Chev inline six HEI---it sits up higher and adjustment is easier---not for everybody but it works well for me.
  19. Did you look at the other options offered here---I`am not a fan of his set up....just my 2 cents.
  20. Last Thursday we got started on the pass. side. I thought we would be a couple of weeks till mud. This panel is much better---after a couple of hours the Dura-Glas went on. Way ahead on this side---could be the main body will be in primer by June. If I get the rear end all in place the main body could be in color by July----yahooo.
  21. T-5 is a good swap---check the search button and there is a wealth of info there. Myself and Don C have a lot of pics and info you will need....good luck.
  22. Ya I am lucky in this department---with the kid working at a body shop---getting materials reasonable and getting to use the paint booth when it`s ready for final color---the shop is owned by his cousin and some stuff is gratis. The paint supplier was very good to him when I needed the paint for the Windsor. If I had to pay for a paint job out right---I couldn`t afford it. You gotta learn how to do this stuff to save the bucks.......thanks again..............Lee
  23. Thanks guys----Dez---it`s starting to look like a California car:D--intentions are to get the car in primer then out to his shop--block this last coat--shoot one more coat of primer---block that---then base coat-block-clear-block-buff. Then bring her home for all the rest. The "Kid" will do the doors--hood--fenders at work. All the wrench work will be done at my shop.
  24. At first I thought it was about you and Mr. Adams:D
  25. Tonite we finished the drivers side----one good coat acid primer and three coats of primer surfacer. The rear axle is near completion---spring perch relocation and disc brake brackets---also re-drilling the front hubs for the rims the "Kid" wants---5 x 115----.7mm difference than the Ford pattern---not much to worry about---but as long as I had to have them re-drilled, may as well do it on the money. Already started getting the pass. side ready for mud work next Thursday---some pics......Lee
