  1. I want to replace the half inch front sway bar with. something more stout. Is there a bolt in one inch bar that someone has done already?
  2. Reminder that this is the 100th year anniversary of Dodge Brothers.1938 was the last of the true DB cars.Later,Art in Wuakesha,Wi.
  3. Welcome to the site! I have a 1938 Dodge coupe with a 1935 Dodge 216 that was rebuilt in 1970.Great driving cars with beautiful design.I am trying to upgrade the brakes.I went with a Ford nine inch rear from a 1965 Ford Econoline van.62" wide with 10" brakes and a better emergency brake.Disc brake kits are available from rustyhope.com I am still looking for a viable upgrade for the master cylinder that is a (almost ) a bolt in swap.If you are going to restore,I have saved a lot of my electronics since I did the 12 volt conversion.Later,Art in Waukesha,Wi.
  4. Deathbound, this thread is great! Our cars can be made to be daily drivers with the right upkeep. With sites like this,we can track down the parts needed.Unlike you,I am not computer savvy so,my projects are poorly documented. Also, the pix of the old parts is good to see before you tear into a 70 year old car. I think much of the technology was ahead of it's time.Art.
  5. Hi,I have a 1938 Dodge D8 coupe that I am updating in the same vein.Bigger drums on the back with a 9 inch Ford rear.I like the stock look and location of the master cylinder.I talked to rustyhope about the front brakes and he said that the sppindle bearing diameter is variable on these cars and would have to be measured before the right parts for the upgrade could be made. I just did the king pins, but neglected to get the info while it was all apart.1965 Ford Econoline van rear is 62" wide. After the spring perches are relocated and angled,I can enjoy the 3.50 gear ratio.what other period parts are you using?
  6. Nice job on the springs! I have a 1938 Dodge BC that needs the new springs in the front also. The drivers side has the ghetto lean.Did you rebuild the antivibration bushing on the drivers side? My spring rebuilder has put me on hold while he figures out what to do there.Did your spring rebuilder supply the bushings?
