  1. i havent gone to look at it yet i wanted some info if it would work before i went to check it out.
  2. ill say.there is no interior in the car at all or anything at all. i think the 5spds from the rangers (tk) fit better with bench seats from a few posts ive seen.mustang t-5s to long . thought id ask about the s-10 becuz i saw it at a decent price and its close by my town.
  3. i just have the motor Don,i have it half way disassembled, and found the trans online. i dont have any seats in car now. the car is a 47 plymouth 2dr sedan.i plan on swapping out the stock rear and driveshaft.
  4. i found a t5 gm borg warner trans from a s-10 or 3rd gen cam. 82-93 with a 14 spline. i have a 47 dodge 230 i want to put the trans behind. my question is will this work or do i need to find a different one?
  5. todfitch i figured since the 230 is out of the car and has been sitting ,I freshen it up and help it breathe better. When guys ask "are you dropping a 350 in that thing ?" I say heck no ,keeping it traditional flathead 6. there response is usually hmm i havent seen one in awhile and those flatties dont die. I also am in a car club and they all have v8's and dont drive them much because of gas mileage. But a flathead 6 with a 5spd and proper gearing i'd drive it all the time. plus my dads first car was a 49 plymouth coupe. i'm paying homege to him and what he would have done when he was young. my feeling is you build a car up and then hide it in the garage doesnt make sense ,drive em don't hide em. thanks for your help. ill try to post a pic of the car,
  6. Thanks that's what I needed to know .I have 2 218's and 1 230.the 230 is in better shape.my goal is to be different in a sea of v8s.iknow it won't be a neck snapping race car. Just "a hey I haven't seen one of those in awhile" response when hood is open.
  7. i have a 1949 dodge 230 with 40k original miles that is going to go into a 1947 plymouth 2 dr sedan. I can only find mods for a 218 bored up to a 230 is there anything for a 230 bored up to? I know the basic stuff dual carbs , split manifold, mill the head but what else can i do to this 230? I am on the search for a 5 speed to put behind it.My metal work on th car is almost done so just trying to prep for next stage. Thanks for any help lads.
  8. i thought so .thanks . i thought i messaged you back daliant.
  9. i have a 47 plymouth 2 door sedan , i am missing the trunk lid,but i found one on ebay. my question is will the trunklid from a 48 4 door fit on a 47 2 door? i think it will but i thought i would check with knowledgable.
  10. what year tank is that? im thinking about doing the same thing ,close up filler hole on rear and put a flip down licsence plate with filler behing it.
  11. ha ha you guys are great i have some "freebie" 3/8 zinc coated nuts im going to try to weld in.kind of off topic but what are your thoughts on 3m body panel addhesive . i want to mold quarters into body.
  12. i am trying to replace the fender fastner on the cowl since mine were gone.having a hard time trying to find these cage nuts or well nuts or whatever there called.anybody have any suggestions ?i went to big box stores for regular 3/8 x 16 nuts but they are all zinc coated not sure how they will weld up.i am stuck and cant move forward to inner and outer rocker repair until i can get a nut in the lower cowl apillar . help.
  13. thanks did that last night.
