  1. You can buy those switches too. I forget where we got them from but in HS we used a few of them on a friends dash to control some of his monster stereo system. I think I still have them laying around somewhere....
  2. I've had tubeless tires on the pickup since 01 and on the car since 04 I think. Works out fine as long as you get the proper valve stems as the others mentioned.
  3. Pete am I seeing things or does your car not have a front clip in the picture??
  4. Here's another theory. MN and WI are dairy states so maybe there was plenty of real icecream to go around?
  5. Darin has a later engine so he probably didn't end up with that return spring bracket. I might have an extra one around but you'd have to have the proper air cleaner to make it look normal. Very curious issue about possibly not having any thermostat bypass. From the description of Darins drive it sounds like when his freeze plug blew he had been driving for a while and his engine should have been warmed up. So the thermostat would have been open and relieving the pressure?
  6. You guys are making me wonder if someday I'll be looking at my cousins name on a memorial somewhere. I certainly hope so.
  7. I've got one I took off the drivers side of my coupe. For sale if someone wants it. Don't care for the look myself
  8. Norm Been in MN 28 years now and never heard of snow cream either. Very interesting
  9. I think Tim's head is hard enough to handle a few pecan impacts
  10. I will add my thanks to Merle too. I haven't met him quite yet but when he gets up this way he's going to drop off a flathead for me.
  11. Ya I kinda like it. Maybe doesn't fit the look you are going for on your Ford but I bet someone would take it. Reg probably has an extra truck or 2 laying about that could use a topper
  12. Thanks everyone for the comforting words. Wake and funeral were thurs/friday. Just wanted to share how good of a sendoff they had for Bill. At the funeral they had the honor guard do a flag folding ceremony and presentation of the colors. Also as the family walked to the front of the church there was shoulder to shoulder police and sheriffs standing and saluting. Patriot guard was outside both days as well. And being outside holding a flag in 0 degree weather couldn't have been pleasant.
  13. Hi All Fellow POC member from my area is looking for the rollers that go on the door channel for a 41 plymouth. Any sources?
  14. I will say we've had good luck with a few of the things we got from there. The 49.99 paint gun we bought has been doing quite well. The engine stand arms wouldn't pivot enough to bolt to the back of the 50 chev engine. Ended up using the old engine piece with the new stand.
  15. I just looked at mine. The pentastar key for my coupe just has a #1 on it. My truck key is a Y149.
  16. Fred I got ignition keys made at the local hardware store. They had the blanks in stock. They are the more modern pentastar looking blanks but work fine.
  17. I wonder if they could order them for you with the proper part #?
  18. My local napa has it. I just looked and couldn't find it online though. I did find they have spring steel armored brake lines like what came on our cars from the factory.
  19. The PVC coated lines I got are very easy to bend and supposedly kink-proof. They were about a dollar more over the same size plain steel lines. Way better anyway than that $129 stuff.
  20. Norm it could be somewhat of a mileage thing too. They would be exposed to more salt ext. My truck has 168K on it and the other dakota I replaced them on is well over 200K.
  21. Norm my 94 dakota already has had the 2 lines that cross the rear axle replaced from rust damage. Was a few years ago at about 10 years of age for the truck. Now the lines are used are from napa. They are PVC coated. Don't think its brass on the inside but maybe. Anyway I was happy the way they installed and have since used them on another dakota I did. You can also cut and flare just like the steel lines.
  22. My parents 83 caprice classic was assembled in Canada. I remember the maple leaf sticker on the drivers door.
  23. Bob isn't that a 201? I've heard they have more meat to be bored out because of the smaller bore to begin with.....
  24. Not to steal Reg's topic but I've always heard no thermostat can actually cause it to run hotter because the thermostat besides keeping the block at a certain temp also causes a certain restriction in the water flow. And without it the water doesn't stay in the radiator long enough for it to function properly.
