  2. Yes you have to pull the axles but they are only held in by the races. I guess pulling the axles is kind of a misleading term.
  3. I want a rubber mat for my pickup but have nothing left of an original for a pattern. Did they mention anything about bulk rubber mat in their emails?
  4. Fred what about drilling out the rivets and using those holes? See if you can use the gasket to line it up that way.
  5. I'm pretty sure they are making 2. When he started this project I sold him a sedan version and I know he was looking for a coupe one to buy too.
  6. You can gently tap on the race to push them back in. I would do the bearings too since you have it apart. Will maybe cost you $50 all together. Well worth it.
  7. The tricky part is the starter will turn over regardless of the key. Once in a while I will wonder why my truck isn't starting......
  8. Bob I'm not much of a wine drinker but I did have to get a bottle of that just to have an empty to put on my fridge. I've heard they have a white now too.
  9. Fred is this a new sender? On some of the new ones the rivets are in the screw holes. I've heard of a few guys having this issue with the repro 39-47 pickup senders. Also I wouldn't see why you couldnt drill 5 new holes. Either should work.
  10. and once its working check out www.trueoldieschannel.com see if they broadcast in your area.
  11. Thats good to hear. Now I just gotta wait til spring and hope I can get it done. As always there are a few projects going on
  12. 94 Dodge Dakota. Picture is back in its glory days. Now is rusty and needs a resto of its own
  13. 75? You're old! haha 79 for me
  14. Norm whos car is that? The stainless down the center of the grill sure looks like it should fit a 40 pickup but the #s dont match. Always wondered how different it really is. The last restored 40 ply truck center stainless that was on ebay went for 1200 bucks. So I need an alternative! I do like the look of it in flat black. I think the plan now is to primer it black as I intended but not to go to bare metal before hand like I thought. The factory paint that is still remaining will protect that metal and the primer over it will just make it match. And hopefully the primer thats not over old paint will protect that metal too. Yes the primer will eventually be wasted but if it makes it look better for a couple summers and protects the bare spots its not so much of a waste in the end.
  15. Another classic car plate is a student driver magnet
  16. Somebody photoshop in some 49 plymouth bumpers
  17. Glad someone appreciates the evil genius. My goal is to be so good at the pranks that I can pull them without fear of retribution because they fear what I will do back after that

Anyone got one of these around? These 2 had fairly rusty buckets. I found 1 more that is good but the lense is slightly different. And then I dropped one of the matching lenses! DOH So I'm hoping to find one of these with a decent bucket and either this style lense or the other style which has circles in the middle.
  19. Tim I've got one of those with the stone and one without. Napa makes a paper filter for these too. Gets you a new gasket for between the glass and the top too.
  20. Ok got a good update for you. Right at the end of the day I found out who did it. So now my plan on monday besides probably letting the open snickers spill all over is to try and steal back my stapler without him knowing. Of course I will not say I have it back!
  21. http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB120000007479681853-lMyQjAxMDI4MDEwMTAxMDEwWj.html try that one
  22. Now here's one someone told me that I might try out after I find out who did it. Replace the ball in their mouse with a milkdud. Leaving the snickers so I can see who takes it might not work. I'm supposed to leave it on my desk all day. I'm sure they will pick them up while I'm at break lunch in the bathroom etc. Maybe I need a covert camera for my desk!
  23. So I could cut a hole in the bag and make sure all the snickers fall out all over the place! Or maybe a smaller hole and try to follow the snicker trail to the perps desk.
  24. Ok not sure how many of us in here have seen the movie office space. Anyway I personally own a stapler like the one in the movie. It is now being held for ransom as an office joke. So of course instead of playing along I need to retaliate. On monday I am supposed to leave a bag of fun sized snickers on my desk that at some point during the day will be picked up by the thief. So anyone got an idea on how I can boobytrap the snickers so I can catch the perp? Homing device? Superglue? I suppose an exploding dye pack would be a little much?
  25. He seems to have a few old cars for sale. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/search/car?query=redwood+falls&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&addTwo=
