  1. Wayne without a doubt shell out the cash for rubber from lynn steele. Of all the parts we used from andy on dads convert the rubber stuff is still sitting on the shelf.
  2. Wow is right Tim. I was thinking of that for the 51. Beau did the bumpers bolt on that way or did you modify them?
  3. We are still only at 10% ethanol. And if you want for old cars you can run no ethanol gas.
  4. There are a few parts on my cars from Andy and my Dads convert has lots and lots of stuff from him. He sent us the wrong springs for dads 40 pickup and we got the return shipping credited to us against the next order. Had a few minor messups with Roberts too but they also got resolved.
  5. Thats possible too Don but Im not sure I trust my welding enough yet to start doing frame mods. Of course thicker stuff is easier then sheetmetal too. Plus this project is supposed to be done on a budget so I gotta find a cheap 5spd too. The Upull yard is having 1/2 price wednesdays right now so I might try to catch one then. At least for trucks there are no floor mods required and no welding to do on the bellhousing.
  6. Looks like it might fit moving that crossmember worries me!
  7. Not here in MN! Truck hibernates nov-march. I did put a heater in it last fall.
  8. Sounds good. I'll have to check and make sure my headlights have enough left to plug that thing into. Also I was probably going to end up using the red lights which from the pic I can't tell if they have it or not.
  9. Maybe that would work after all. I was thinking my buckets might have had their own wiring interally. That plug looks like it might plug right into this bottom piece. Look at the left one.
  10. You're right Reg. Those look like the plugs that go into the back of the reflector for the old bulb type lights. I'll have check and see what the wiring looks like for the 40 ply headlights I have.
  11. Reg I might be in the market if Sam passes. Whats the going rate on license holders vs wiring
  12. I've uploaded from my camera or a flash drive straight through my pc.
  13. Greg what do the standups you are ditching look like? I'm looking for something to put on my front bumper for front turnsignals.
  14. Not yet. Its been too cold to mess with that thing! This weekend its supposedly in the 20s so I'll have another shot at it tomorrow.
  15. Found a picture of my truck that clearly shows the space available. Now only if I had measured.......
  16. Pretty sure 10% is the most anyone has for now. I suspect with the new regs that passed that will be going up. Of course there's also E85 but thats a whole different idea. I might try the chain thing for my next project just because its got a budget of 0.
  17. Mackster the truck linkage does go at the firewall(not on it) but it normally pushes the carbs not pulls.
  18. HAHA they still make a point to call it a 5window truck
  19. Dad has a 54 and 55 R pickups and a 75 scoutII.
  20. I did the math on some of these fees and its really not going up that much. If your item sold for $25 the fee is 75 cents higher. Some of that washes with the listing fee. The gallery picture is now free which before was I think 35 cents. I have some collectible cards I plan to sell which I figure should bring about 1600.00. I figured out the fee with the old rates and the new rates and the difference is about 3 bucks. Now paypal is another story......
  21. Well I went to the store last night. It was below 0 and with the wind maybe 35 below. BRRRR And Ed it can still get pretty hot here in summer too. 90s high humidity ick!
  22. I'm actually surprised to hear that. Samsung is supposed to be one of the top of the line for the flatscreen tvs.
  23. Yup thats what you do. And yes the mopars of this era are a PITA to fill. In the cars its under the floor!
  24. I heard on I think oldihc that the guys not in a hurry will stick the tank in the back of their daily driver truck with a length of chain inside it. The driving makes the chain rattle and slide and knocks the rust off. Rotate the tank so the chain works on each side. Sort of a slower method of the cement mixer idea.
  25. That is cool and his legal disclaimer at the bottom is quite funny
