  1. Norm looks like if the rest of the guys are into football as much as you and I it will be a good weekend to have it! Probably less traffic on the roads then too.
  2. Bob that picture was when it was freshly restored. Springs were incorrectly built. Another set have since been installed from Espo. Also no curb feelers.
  3. Norm not that I ever really watch but isn't that superbowl weekend?
  4. So cool. Off to go look through all the old hotrods I have laying around and see if I have a real copy of it!

I do use my light. Somehow I can always find the headlight switch but not always the keyhole.
  6. Everytime I see one of these it makes me think I should liberate this one from the junkyard

My car doesn't have the parking lights in the front installed at all. I have no front trim besides headlight rings. Hopefully before the detroit meet my car will get primered flat black and all trim reinstalled. In the early 50s cars that key light only comes with the parking lights and mine comes on with both I think. I figured I may have switched that wire accidentally when I replaced my headlight switch.

While we are sorta on this subject on the p15s does this key light stay on with the headlights or just the parking lights? Mine is on with the headlights and I suspect I may have messed something up.
  9. Ok so now the east and west are working again on meetings. We in the middle need to keep going on ours!
  10. Arthur the torque spec on those is 160lb ft minimum. They are quite tight. Are you using impact tools or atleast a big breaker bar?
  11. Its a nice touch. I will probably do the same with my 51 only with the bottle cap covers. May even do 2 sets one with each body color.
  12. That is most certainly my good car. You are right it is very decent and will be restored someday. That is the day I brought it home. Parts car was a 46 2dr sedan. And just for fun my pickup the day I towed it home. For the record it looked like that on 7-24 and I was driving it by fall before putting it away for the winter.
  13. 51 convert should have full wheel covers not the cheapie caps. Also the cranbrook logos are missing and I believe so is the clock. I'd still drive it!
  14. Feel free to ask more questions as they come along. These are pretty basic carbs. I can do one in my sleep now The other day I took mine apart to clean it out after work and had it back together and back on the car in time to drive to dinner
  15. I just noticed that second 39 has the opposite color scheme I'm contemplating for my 48. It looks nice backwards.
  16. Kevin that will be a standard rebuild kit item. They really aren't too complicated to rebuild. Pay attention to where the 2 BBs come out of. The small one goes under the accelerator pump and the bigger one is in a port right next to it. The other thing is keep your old gaskets until you put it back together. The kits typically have multiple ones that are close and you have to match them up with the proper ones for your specific carb.
  17. Pete don't you find it interesting that Don is copying something from your #1 race winner?
  18. Sure makes me glad to have access to one of these(the dolly not the p15). My pickup my coupe and a parts car for each have been towed home with this behind my dakota. Also numerous other old cars and broken down modern cars.
  19. Thats the original bracket but it looks to have been moved.
  20. I don't think plymouth offered a sidemount in 39. I think someone was playing. Those converts should have the first power tops though! Plymouth also offered a convertible sedan for 39 only.
  21. I don't have a fulton to compare with.
  22. I think they said 30. Wouldn't take too many more cars to use up that many. I've already forgotten the dimensions of the one I bought. They also have about 20 different sizes so I would think one would work for you.
  23. It sure is Tim. The height is perfect so when its tight its not loose but its not compressing the metal either. Granted I haven't tried this in a 54 but I have one in my 48 and 2 in the pickup and they are working great in there. Anyone else in need of a few of these? The hardware store said I could order a box and get the price per down.
  24. I've never heard about the 2 lenghts of tranny input shafts. I would think that would just be dependent on using the matching bellhousing. I got a 47 WC pickup for parts that had a long block installed way back when. Still had the factory WC bellhousing and truck tranny as far as I could tell. Front mount was bolted to some little pieces of angle iron welded to the frame.
