  1. Thanks for the replys. I did not have the distributor out but did replaced the wires. I checked the coil wires the wire to the distributor is connected to + side of the coil. I did replace that wire to the distributor because it was worn.
  2. My engine ran ok before I replaced the carb, regulator, starter coil and key switch and guages. The engine turns over I get gas but but not even a hint of firing. I checked all wires and they are in the correct order. I tried to ground the generator to the regulator, maybe I need to clean contacts? I pulled # 1 plug and attached plug wire only get a weak spark when I ground the plug. I still have spare coils, regulators and carb. I have a 1948 B1B orginal 6 volt system with generator. Any help would be appriciated. Allan

  11. Thanks for all the help. The Unityusa.com was a great information site. I tested the lights with my 6 volt battery using Neg. as power and Pos as ground, lights worked but dim. I took apart and found 12 volt spot bulb. I then found a good bulb cross reference site at donsbulbs.com i was able to find the correct 6 volt bulb. I will wire hot to headlight switch or to neg side of amp. Thanks to all i'am on the right track now.
  12. Norm thanks for the information on spotlights. I printed out the instructions for a 12 volt light. I guess i will connect the single wire to - source with switch in-between. Hope i got that correct!
  13. I have a B1B 6 volt with + ground. I'am installing a spotlight with a single wire. I want to wire through a switch. Can anyone help me on where to attach the wires.
  14. Thanks for the comments. Just for a note I used a round shoe used on a Quater Horse, most people that have horses should have some laying around. If someone need a set I will make another one. I enjoy getting tips from club members so it was my turn.
  15. I tried to find part. Try these locations. For a B3B the part number is 1272412 I found it at WWW.MMPAR.COM it shows in stock. I don't know cost but I paid $45 for my B1B. I also found it at WWW.ROBERTSMOTORPARTS.COM it is listed under Electrical & related parts part # T202 to fit 37-57 years cost $37. Try these. Good luck!
  16. I made a steering wheel puller from two horseshoes. I cut a space out of each to slip over the column, one from each side to make a circle. I pre drilled two holes so i could bolt them together after the were under the steering wheel. I cut 4 pieces of radiator hose, and cut lengthwise to cover the shoe and protect the steering wheel. I used a 3 leg puller connected to the shoe and tightned. One tap with a rubber hammer and it came off. Cost is $000 unless you buy a horse. I will try to attach pictures. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1948.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1950.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1974.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1973.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1972.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1971.jpg

  18. I took pictures of the harness and have it scanned with all the detail if someone needs that. My harness was modified from original for turn singles and right tail light but i can show both ways.
  19. I bought a cowl vent rubber from www.mmpar.com It cost $19.50 plus shipping it is the correct length and looks good. They are on e-bay as FMMPAR check it out.
  20. I have the same problem so today i bought some flat sheet brass .005" thick and after i slid the clutch peddal on i used 4 1/4" wide strips inserted around the areas that were worn. I bent up the end i was pushing on, so it would give a place to hold. I left this bent area against the peddal and replaced the keeper. About 80% better. I found the brass flat stock at the hobby store. They had .005" .010" and .015" sheets. Just thought i would try it. Cost was $1.99
  21. I got the rubber from Roberts. Is there an easier supplier?

  23. Thanks I will try that. I tried several times, but now I rolled the molding inside out and it looks like that is the proper way. Thanks for the help!!
  24. I'am ready to install the 1/4 windows on my 48 B1b. Do I put the rubber on the glass first or on the truck first.
  25. I agree with Charles. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Allan
