  1. They're getting $10-$20/pair for these on ebay. Problem is there seems to be no shortage as they are on there all the time. Still not a bad buy considering the price. Post your name in the supplier section if you end up getting them, I check there most of the time before going on ebay. Rather do business with the guys on forum first.
  2. Alls well here in mass again. Storms passed, powers restored, yards a freaking mess... Drove over to check ruby and she faired just fine hunkered down in her carriage house a mile up the road.
  3. Mark, greetings from another Mark in central mass. Sorry to hear about your loss. I've gone through this myself and still don't feel quite right nearly 21 years later. Truly I believe a piece of yourself passes in times like that. But 21 years have taught me that life goes on and you do fill the void somehow, but it's never quite like it was before. Whereabouts in mass where you from? I see from your profile you're in Orono now. I've got 100 acres of pristine wilderness due west from you in North New Portland, near Kingfield/Sugarloaf Mt. Been thinking of driving my 48 up there one of these fall weekends to do some leaf peeping. Well, I guess there's very little to be said that will truly comfort you, but hope you accept a wish that your pain leaves quickly and you find comfort in your memories of Wes. I'm sure he'll be at your right shoulder whenever you're working on your car. - Mark
  4. Ooooooo- now there's a good thought! Too bad her birthdays in June.
  5. We're getting lots of wind now, nothing steady, just good gusts. Ripped a few tree out of the back yard moments ago and laid them over near my shed. Power went out at 11am. (love this ipad with 3g)... Got my gen-set out and started it to keep my sump pump going. Just checked the pump and it seems I've smoked it. Smokes pouring out of the motor, so off to the in-laws I go to borrow the spare before if the water rises in the hole any more...
  6. Here's another thught Moose... Buy it for Henry! He'll be driving in 10 years and you'll have lots of time to get this ready for him!
  7. Moose - You gotta be able to hide another in that barn! PS, the A looks great in green!
  8. Great looking car Thomas! I'm very partial to them more doors! Noticed your hood doesn't wear the typical ornament. Did you get it that way, or have you modded the hood trim? So welcome, great bunch of guys in here, with much great advice, and a few thoughts about P15's sometimes too... Mark
  9. Same goes for us back here in Mass Dave - heavy winds & a foot of rain is what they're saying. Hoping for the best here. We'll look for your posts, let us know when its blown by you. BUT its not getting here until tomorrow afternoon for us, so I'm off to my regular cruise night tonight.
  10. Printed out the advert - posting it on the fridge when I get home tonight as an ice-breaker... hopefully it wont turn out to be a jaw-breaker. Hey Moose - you need this car now that you've increased the size of your family! Would look real nice parked in the barn of yours!
  11. I've stopped and looked at this several times in the past few months. It's in real decent shape and appears to be pretty original all around. One of you guys needs to come and get this. My wife says only one at a time... http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/2538402252.html
  12. Shortly after I got my car, I discovered someone had taken a torch and distorted the springs in the front end. I suspect this was likely a response to the sag in the rear that must've been really noticeable after the new springs were installed. Replacement is on my winter list of activities this year. Seeing this thread made me inquire as to what the cost of a new set of front springs goes for from Espo, so I dropped them a note last night. Reply email was quick and courteous. A pair for the front of my '48 cost $85 + $14 s/h. It sounds like a pretty good deal so I will invest to restore correct ride height when she gets pulled off the road for the winter. As for the rear springs , I'm think a nice pair of adjustable air shocks with a charge hose routed to the interior of the truck will do fine. I rarely have four people in the car, but holy cow, you can certainly tell the difference with those extra bodies in the car.
  13. Shook my office in central mass pretty good. Just talked to a buddy of mine who works on the thirty-ninth floor of a building in Boston. He said he'd never felt anything like that before, doors banging, and chairs moving around. Most of the high rises down there where evacuated and employees were let go for the afternoon. It was hopefully only a once in a lifetime event.
  14. Mark A - I saw this on a site that Greg posted yesteday... Thought of your blown tire saga... http://theoldmotor.com/?attachment_id=22667 Cheers -
  15. Fantastic thread to browse. Got a kick out of his "yard art" just a few pages into the read. Thanks for sharing this.
  16. Just rolled 65K on Ruby's ODO this past weekend. When I got her in February she had just over 61k on her. I'll probably do another 1.5k this year before I put her away for her winter nap. I just love driving her and she seems to like being driven, so I'll likely keep up the same pace until one of us gives out. ... and hopefully that's not for at least another 40 years.
  17. Does anyone know off the top of their heads what the thread size is for the studs that hold the coil to the spark plug wire loom? I managed to loose a nut (all laughs aside) in the engine bay today swapping my coil out for a new one and can't for the life of me find the dam thing. I shot air in and around the dizzy, wanded the lower part of the engine with my magnet... It's just doesnt want to be found... I think its a fine thread but I'm not sure. Nothing in my spare parts can would go on easy and I didnt want to strip the stud.
  18. Ruby hit 65k on the Massachusetts turnpike while rocketing along at a breakneck speed of 54 mph. This means she's averaged less than 900 miles per year, with the last 4k added by me since I got her in January... Plymouths ever forward!
  19. Just a few shots I grabbed yesterday. #1 Crossing the Connecticut River in Springfield. (Side note, got to see a lot of hurricane devestation along rt.20 from Palmer to just the other side of this bridge. Gave me a new perspective for sure). #2 View of the little town common where the event was held. GMC pick-up immediately in front of the church was the 1st place truck winner. It was nice, but it was trailered, which in my book should disqualify it. #3 Desoto - Had a nice conversation with the owner and his mechanic brother. This car was well loved and gave me a little case of the envies... #4 Dynamic duo... #5 Greg pushing me out of town...
  20. Great trip out to lower left Massachusetts today. 236 mile rount trip ride was awesome, and Ruby performed flawlessly. Met up with Greg G and his bride at the show, and had a nice time swapping hobby talk and gawking at the trailer queens that walked off with all the trophies. Grabbed a few photos, will post those later tomorrow when I get back to the ranch. Greg was right about going to other regional areas and attending their shows and meets, you get to see stuff that you don't find at the ice cream stand every Friday night. PS... Just curious how many of you guys have Facebook pages? Have you 'liked' the p15-d24 page? Seems to be many on their from here.
  21. Got a kick out this video of Rachel Veitch and her 600,000 mile comet caliente'. Poor audio track, but worth the watch. - enjoy
  22. Amazing story Mark. Really surprised and quite glad for you to hear there's no damage. I'm meeting Greg G on Saturday in New Marlborough, MA at a show & shine... You up for another road trip yet? - Mark D
  23. Weather for Saturday looks just maaahvelous Greg... Anyone else gonna give it a go?!!
  24. Sounds like a reason for a sunday drive Dave. I'll put it on my calendar.
