About Me
Had my 53 Pilot House since (1973) I was in high school. Bought it in the 70's when a friend found it for me in a junk yard about to get crushed. I paid the guy $200 not to crush it! We filled t with gas and brake fluid and bounced it around the junk yard for two hours until it finally stopped, then drove it home from Palo Alto to Burlingame where we fixed it up and drove it all over. It became my transportation for several years during and after high school....then I got married. Of course the truck followed me but sat and sat...and sat. Kids came and it sat. It ended up in a field in Fresno for several years. It got towed back to the Bay Area and ended up in a body shop for a few years. Almost got possesed by the IRS because the body shop went belly up but I got it out before they got it!. It sat in a driveway for many years after that. Had kids...it sat. $$$ it sat..You know the story...work...$$...Family first....$$$...it sat. I got really sick after some medical problems...more $$$!!! it sits some more!! I finally get some stuff going on it....more medical problems...it has to sit....More $$$ more problems...it sits some more! I acquire another 52 Dodge for parts so I can finally get something going on it...like another bed and I start taking it apart....more medical issues...these even more serious to where it is even harder for me to even work on the damn truck!!! Just about lost my left leg all together! The dream starts to fade now but still hope!! I keep trying every day to do something with these guys but it continues to get harder and harder to get to drive my High School Sweetheart again but I am bound to keep on trying....even with my wife and others nagging me to sell these gems of trucks....THEY JUST DON'T GET IT DO THEY!!! I hope I can get these (or one of them anyway) on the road soon so I can enjoy that sound once again before I croak! Live on Pilot House!!! It will happen!
