  1. You could be Way crazier than having the two Plymouth Bus. Cpes. !! They could be Fords. ? That would be Crazy! DJ
  2. Looks to me to be installed correctly but isn't in crooked? ? Ignore the remark, it's all OK in the world! DJ
  3. I believe the killer is Col. Mustard in the library with the lead pipe! Did I guess right? Wrong Mustard you say? ? DJ
  4. Take the new seal and the gear cover to a local machine shop and ask them to replace for you.. Should be cheaper than buying a one time use tool for you and no chance of parts damage. My 2 cents only! Maybe the front pulley also and ask them to install a speedy-sleeve on it also. Go home and have a cold drink or two and relax.. NO stress! A few days later pick up and install the parts and add paint, stand back , admire and enjoy life DJ
  5. Looks blue to me. Break in oil. Smelling like antifreeze will always tell when it is water! Needs to be driven!! seats or not. Should be fine. Enjoy! Don't worry be Happy! ? DJ
  6. Bob, You can get a pretty fair look at the gears etc. by removing the side shifter cover. That is where your shifter levers are located. Drain the trans oil first! Remove the shifter arms after making sure the both are in the neutral position. Remove the two spring detent springs and balls that are located under the Big nots just ahead of the forward shifter arm location. They are about 3/4" headed nuts. Remove slowly as just under the nuts are the springs that have some (not much ,but) pressure. There is a ball bearing sphere under each spring. Keep the parts in order as to location. My trans had different lenght springs , but I believe that originally they are the same. Not a huge deal as they only slip into slots on the rods for the shifters to hold them in various positions for the gear locations. I'm making this sound complicated where it is really not so. Remove the rest of the side shifter retaining bolts and lift the cover straight ? up and off. From that access hole you can se almost of the parts inside for inspection. Spray some brake clean or such to get better looks as desired. ? Have fun, it is fairly straight forward. ? DJ
  7. Ran across this yesterday. Interesting, certainly Not cheap! https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/sniper_efi/sniper_efi_autolite_1100_one_barrel/parts/550-552 DJ
  8. Use it to clean the wife's jewelry and collectable silverware/ etc. ? Good for many favors? Your choice? Makes the purchase worthwhile . You would also find more uses if you had it. Different cleaning solutions for the various uses. DJ
  9. Antique piece of steel that demonstrates the USA's earliest global leadership in modern factory productions ?? ☝️ Ready for display in a trophy case. ? DJ
  10. I believe that only one year tag (like the 48 above) was given out to the license holder for the rear plate only. Therefore only one was required. While Ca. has and does require front plates also to this day it is Fairly loosely enforced in my experience. At least on older cars like ours. Many twists and turns in the current Ca. regs. to be totally legal but most? old car owners play pretty loose with the rules and Generally get away with it If they drive decently.. My experience here in Central Ca. DJ
  11. So now if I read right she drives good? Fun to drive? 4:11 with a auto trans will tear up the 1/4 mile but mileage? Is the automatic a overdrive type like a 700R-4/ Sounds like you jump in and get things done which I can really appreciate the time in affort it takes as I sent many a hour in years past when I was still able on my 1950 Plymouth Surburban . See my profile info on the left on this post to get some info on my car. If I can some info/ inspiration when/ if needed let me know.. I like the Car!! DJ
  12. I would do nothing until I took it to the rebuilding shop and push them to do the diagnosis of the leak. Show them the leak/leaks. If It is something on the easier side then get them to at least provide the parts. Be sure that it is easy! If it is the seal/s in the main cap then this is a Big job!! Look at options after some more checking? My 2 cents. DJ
  13. Buy a new 4-7 lb. cap of the new style. Easy and have done this 3 times now. DJ
  14. Check in with the BBQ's concierge on your limo reservations and personal assistant. ? Was the phone number not on the Forum announcement ? Enjoy the trip! DJ
  15. I bet the Por 15 comes right off at the replaters in the hot acid stripper tank! A quick call to a local company will get you a quick answer, most likely they have the experience with paints of all types. Let the forum know what you find out! I thought I was was wrong once , but I was wrong! ? A year or so ago a friend that used to have a 47 Plymouth had the front bumper replated. It was quite straight but needed slight work, had some smallish rusted areas where the old bumper guards were. Came out beautiful, but Cost? Cost in the Lodi ,ca.( Just South of Sacramento) . One bumper. $650! DJ
  16. Keep lookin' for that spring- Jus' in case the New regulator does not work at all. ? DJ
  17. If it make noise when new it will Never improve even with Miracle grease! Find a good one somewhere. Where? Other venders as below links- Call AB and tell whats up and I hope they can and will try again and check their product Before shipping at their cost@! The original bearing sleeve collar had a drilled hole that was 1/8" pipe threaded hole on the top right hand side for a fitting that was connected to a hose that went up and out of the bell housing vent hole with a greaseable nipple on the end. I believe there might have been a floor opening panel (removal-able) to access this grease nipple. https://midwestmilitary.com/ https://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/online-parts-catalog DJ
  18. Wait_ - Trying to do this with the Stupper Bowl on? Rihanna show got your eyes crossed? Missed 99.99 % of it myself! More pics? timing chain marks or you got gears? Valves on #6 appears closed. ?? DJ
  19. rear seat cushion- back. Bolts into clips to retain.. The back should have tabs that swing downward and a bolt goes in the body at those locations I believe! - ? DJ
  20. The whole steer column can be rotated. Affects all shifter positions. Did its position start in the right orientation? Where to start? Mine were all screwed up by previous owners/mechanics were almost nothing could work as is - took week+ to figure where rods went and adjustments another week. The clutch over center setup was totally screwed up with a added welded on spring attachment point that hung down below the frame. Took another 2-3 days and reading and rereading the repair manual on the setup points to get it working. Just as my car as purchased had motor (lost, ) trans and all linkages in trunk, pieces all over in car. Somehow almost parts otherwise were in the car. Maybe someone here has a starting mount point for the column?
  21. Ya got a Home Depot in your neighbor hood? https://www.homedepot.com/p/8-32-x-3-8-in-Phillips-Oval-Stainless-Steel-Machine-Screw-4-Pack-801781/204282627
  22. Best of luck with a conversion.
  23. My favorite that I have used, almost impossible to screw up, believe me! https://www.amazon.com/VEVOR-Brake-Line-Flaring-Tool/dp/B0BJCYFWZQ/ref=asc_df_B0BJCYFWZQ?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80264466333876&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583864000314967&psc=1 Not cheap but prices are all over as Many companies sell this tool. Want to pay more for one ?- check out Eastwood Company price. Just read the Soft metal tube part- on the ad - NOt at all so-- I have used this tool on harder SS tubing and the usual steel brake tubing.. NO issues with even the SS which is a real Bitch with most flaring tools/. * * * Also this tool has a 37 degree tool optional for sale for the AN and other 37 degree fittings - again not cheap but available.
