  1. Ya got a Home Depot in your neighbor hood? https://www.homedepot.com/p/8-32-x-3-8-in-Phillips-Oval-Stainless-Steel-Machine-Screw-4-Pack-801781/204282627
  2. You may want to check out this company for mounts etc. and a call for info and possibly some pics.? https://butchscoolstuff.com/eng-trans-mounting-kits-4/ Web search came up some some late 40's thru mid 50's with mopar v-8 installed though few wir detail eng. compartment pics that I found. Best of luck with a conversion.
  3. My favorite that I have used, almost impossible to screw up, believe me! https://www.amazon.com/VEVOR-Brake-Line-Flaring-Tool/dp/B0BJCYFWZQ/ref=asc_df_B0BJCYFWZQ?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80264466333876&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583864000314967&psc=1 Not cheap but prices are all over as Many companies sell this tool. Want to pay more for one ?- check out Eastwood Company price. Just read the Soft metal tube part- on the ad - NOt at all so-- I have used this tool on harder SS tubing and the usual steel brake tubing.. NO issues with even the SS which is a real Bitch with most flaring tools/. * * * Also this tool has a 37 degree tool optional for sale for the AN and other 37 degree fittings - again not cheap but available. DJ
  4. Thought about legality of 37degree fittings and most used these days in racing applications for fluids. I have used them in new SS brake lines with 37 fittings adapted to fit use. Work great, but $$. PRETTY! Not being up with the whys and why-nots of AN vs. other 37 degree fittings. Legalities? Ran across this info. https://www.mfcp.com/our-blog/an-jic-37-fla Seems Sniper loves details so here you go. ? DJ
  5. The Snap ON hammer would have bent the rod to the West. The HB hammer bent the rod eastward-- Never work! ?
  6. Why not get the dual action FP rebuild kit for the DA pump you have rebuild it and then install it? The line from the pump replaces the line from the intake vacuum totally. That company mentioned often on the forum- Then and Now - used to carry the kits. DJ
  7. Almost $500 for a gasket set for the engine?? Are these Airflow engine something way special? DJ
  8. Appears to also be a 1952? I do not want or need but someone here might. DJ
  9. Well just maybe if the the truck had been yours, things would have come out different and you would have welcome to stay?? ? DJ
  10. Bob I found that lock washers called Hi collars fit perfect. I used Grade 8 my self. Doug high-collar lock washers McMaster-Carr.htm
  11. You could rent it out as it is usually a one and done type of tool. Once the proper adjustment is done no need to repeat in your ;lifetime (we hope) !! ? DJ
  12. Just a thought but a carb rebuild parts supplier sell a replacement carb for B&B's as seen in the link attached. Mikes carburetors.com . B&B replacement DJ new-complete-carburetors.htm
  13. Ken, Ya sure you want him to open up and diagnose internals of a fuel pump? Jus askin". DJ
  14. Is SLO - (San Louis Obisbo) still above the rain water levels? Lot of flooding here in Ca. Was (is?) a very nice but expensive area.. Shakes with the earth fairly often. AS does most of the state. I love Calif. but it is not without its problems , most areas of our great country have something less than ideal. What bothers you the least? ? DJ
  15. Got to appreciate the recent weather here in Cencal. Monday/Tuesday morning woke up to winds and rain pounding down on my roof. Winds were 50++. This turned out to be about 3:45am. Had been up just for a few and went back to lay down again and my window lit up and about 1/2 second later the thunder about shook my bed. Certainly shook my head! Tried going back to sleep and about 10 minutes later my cell phone went off with a tornado alert for the next 45 minutes. Now try to sleep! Crawl in the bathtub? WE DO NOT GET TORNADOS!! Well I guess we can!. Nothing came of it here, but the weather sure is a changin". ?
  16. If much floor replacement is need use at least 18ga. cold rolled. Stronger/flatter/ and easier to weld as mentioned . If possible buy a HF bead roller to put some beads in the bigger panels. It will stop the oil canning effect and also makes the panels stronger. Looks good too! Last I looked HF price was $175 or so? Been awhile though. Easy to use no college educmication required. ? Also many U-Tube videos on use of bead rollers and making replacement panels. DJ
  17. The welds most likely have locked in the dents and most electric sourced welds are harder metals (except tig which is less so). May need some light to medium heat applied to get reasonably straight. Being a floor board most people are not looking for perfection, me included !.
  18. Can we start one of those Go Fund Me deals to get you a airplane ticket to Temecula for a (short) visit? If the forum member all kick in a few$$ we can get it done! ?
  19. Follow the seal makers instructions 100%. They have tested the best methods. Ask here for any clarification of those instructions as needed for sure! Hopefully they were not written in China or Mexico. ? DJ
  20. Got an oxyacetylene torch? Makes holes in hard metals easily. Cheaper than buying new drill bits. Grinders also do mind hard/cheap metals much either to clean up the cut slag. DJ
  21. Is it insulated? With a kitchen/ full bathroom? For rent? ? ? Have a good new year!! DJ
  22. Headlight bulbs with built in turn signal light in the lower part?? DJ
  23. Is the back plate also brand new and perfect condition? No rust , lower areas , etc.? Some pumps I have received had the wrong backing plate hole(s) which fit other applications and my used ones where rough condition. So I took the old backing plates and sanded them to clean bare metal (both sides) and primed them with epoxy primer and then used [polyester bondo to make them flat like new. I always use a Non hardening sealer like Permantex airplane gasket sealer on Both sides of a med. to heavy paper gasket I made. No problems with sealer removal at a later date. The mounting bolts also get sealed on the threads with Permantex sealer before bolting pump on. I once tried Hi -temp silicone sealer for the pump gasket and bolts--- what a mistake--- leaked water everywhere! DJ
  24. My 50 would also trip the circuit breaker when lights , heater blower and defrost blowers were all on. Reset and on again for a minute or two then off again. Mine are all on 12 volt however with the heater/blower motors(2) changed to 12 volt replacements. The rheostat resistor type speed fan controls do still get quite hot when in use . I added relays for the high and low headlights which solved my problems. By the way on my 50 the wire diagrams show the cigar lighter is Not fused at all- What fun that can cause. I think the 49 and 50 wire schematics are the same.?. DJ
  25. Ford 9". Getting harder to find and more expensive. Nothin' more to say. The brakes also show that. DJ
