  1. My B1B had some carbom built up in the head so the pistons were stuck take the head off and check.
  2. I have a set of West Coast mirrors I took off of my 49 if yo are interested?
  3. I went to Barrett Jackson Palm Beach Fla last year. What an experience !!!!!!!!!!!! Some cars are resonable some are high but the experience and just watching it in person was tremendous !!!!!!I live near Buffalo Ny and we have a house in Ft Myers Fla so it was only 2 hrs away. Ive already booked it for this April. I dont have anything in particular but if the right deal comes along well what the hell. !!!!
  4. I didnt know wheel cylinders could be sleeved.
  5. Thanks for the info. That bodywork and paint looks great. Why did you paint the engine blue? Mine is silver and that is what we are going to paint it.
  6. I would feel better with spending $160 and have it right then to step on the pedal and keep losing the pedal . Replace them and error on side of caution.
  7. If it hasnt been running in awhile I dont like the idea of push start unless I am positive there is nothing major wrong. Pop starting it and maybe a bent something could damage more and really turn into something major to repair.
  8. Thanks for the input . We will lokk into it after we get through Christmas. Hank What is the paint code for your truck ? Thats the color green I am looking for. Thanks Wayne
  9. My 49 B1 well when we started working on it we hooked it up neg ground, we have been running it like this for 6 mo. I bought an repair manual for it and it says the truck is pos ground. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do now ??????????
  10. Well lets start off by saying I was told I had a B-3 now from all indications its a B-1. Y=This truck used to be a tractor trailer and the guy that had it before me turned it into a dump truck. Now the question. It has vacuum canister and all kinds of hoses and piping for this vacuum canister.. Are the brakes on this truck vacuum boosted at all or was the vacuum for the trailer ???????????
  11. My experience with the paint shops is noone local can mix the old colors so Im going with 69 medium green. F5
  12. I have a B3 that I am restoring right now. It has a dump truck box on it and is lots of fun to drive. I have it at paint shop right now. Taking it down to bare metal and cab off. It is the same color as your truck , but I want to paint it dark green. I dont know how to post pics yet so I cant post any. I have been taking lots of the restore.
  13. I had thought about putting a flat bed on it with the hoist but as you said there isnt many dump trucks restored so thats what Im going with. The guy that is doing the restoration work works on just about anything , hes working on a tractor truck right now. Hes done Mustangs , Chevelles and camaros. He does great work and at a fair price !
  14. Well I got the dump body off of the B3 on Wed and thurs I loaded it on the trailer and fri I took it to the shop for restoration. I am taking pics as the work progresses but i dont know how to put them on the forum. Im not sure how long it will take to restore it but as long as its ready for next may I will be happy !!!!
  15. The truck actually has 3 different rims on it . 3 are the "suicide rims" not split and the other 3 are split but not matching . What I would like to do is get all matching rims. I found one guy that will change the split rims but . A tire guy told me it is against the law remember Im in NYS!!!!!!!!!! Its against the law for a shop to change the suicide rims. I am going to look around and see if I can find matching rims.
