  1. You mean......that's not a recent picture??? 48D
  2. Ok..... Polysherical head engines (Dodge,Chrylser, De Soto) and the A engines (Plymouth) over lap but had different heads and different displacement numbers. The A engine developed into the LA engine (64-92). The 277 was the first A engine use by Plymouth in 56.......something like that, not trying to write a book here, but interesting just the same. Did my reading at http://www.allpar.com/mopar/poly.html
  3. This is the only picture I found of a 54 engine bay....answers a few questions for me. So were all small blocks poly's? or were there other designs during the 50's (other than the hemi's). I noticed a 277 small bock in there somewhere. 48D
  4. 1954 241 poly 1955 259 poly 1956 269 poly 1957-58 315 poly 1959 318 poly Does this look right? What did the cross member look like 1954? Guess I'll be digging through the internet tonight. 48D
  5. When you post...go down to to the bottom of the page. Look inside the box labeled "addtional options". click on "manage attachments".....from that point you can download from your computer. A seperate window will appear during the download and show you the limitations on the options for download. When you finish, you'll see a highlighted list of attachments in the "addtional options" box. Click on the "preview post" and check you downloads. Then post...ta da. In my opinion, the photo link pictures are better, but some guy's computers take awhile and it causes a bit of frustration. Really enjoying your project! 48D
  6. Looks great Olddodgeguy! Nothing cooler than a straight axle Gasser. Got a name picked out yet? 48D
  7. If you bring the Hemi, the girl, and the flattie.....I'll pay everyone's addmission...lol. 48D:D
  8. HEY! Who left the gate open?....A "car" guy got in here! lol. That's a heck of a shoe horn job Andy. Did you fit that block in there yourself in 73' or did you find it that way? Thats a good looking 230, I think I've seen that picture before. 48D
  9. Just a reminder. This is a free site that works on donations. Lot of great info is at our disposal here, and helps in bringing all us Truck guys together. Its easy to forget someone is working in the background doing all the work necessary to keep this site active and awesome. I'm just a member of this forum, nothing else. I would be lost without the stuff I find here. Use the "Forum Donation Info" at the top of the page and lets keep this deal going. 48D
  10. lol. Its all good, "frame and body" is gateway steel to all Mopar. Watch out guys, you might get like me and become an incurable Moparman. Smallblockjunkie: Awesome build. Been following it close. How 'bout a "youtube" type video of the frame mods before the body goes on? Hey REG! Got 1.5 ton fenders? 48D
  11. Way to help the karma, dude! lol. Definately a prized tool. 48D
  12. Just a reminder the big party is coming up again on April 17th, 2010. It's time to get crackin' on your trucks so we can all get together and tell each other what should'a, could'a been done if we wuz rich. Oh yes,.. Hemi's pay double, and yellow trucks get in free. 48D
  13. hey bud...I have my dakota collum torn down. If it helps...I could post pictures of it. 48D
  14. I got my throttle struck wide open while passing a cop once....turned out it was my foot....yea, got a ticket. lol 48D:D
  15. Looks great George...with that much GM iron, you'll have more Chebby fans ticked than Dodge...lol. Looks like a Dana 60/Dana 44 axle set up. Is that a 208 transfer case? The larger tire set up made me think of clearance. Just thinking out loud here, but maybe 1.5 ton fenders would work better than the 1/2 to 1 ton style. Either way, you've put some work into. 48D
  16. Wow...excellent price.....excellent project.... Take pictures when you pick it up and post them, gotta love a panel truck. 48D
  17. Lol...very cool....welcome to the Forum Victor! 48D
  18. Hey George, If my memory serves me, they moved to the current location about 10 years or so ago. Maybe they don't bother to advertise locally? I found them when I was building my 72 Charger years ago. 48D
  19. Welcome to the forum! At the top of the page here is : "Visit DEPTCA" click that button, then at the bottom of that page is: "Pilot's Knowledge" click that button and you'll find a lot of info that's helpful. use the "search" button to find old threads on common subjects and visit the car side to double check engine questions too, or just to say "hello". ebay is a good source for manuals.....here's a few links for you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-1949-Dodge-B-1-Pickup-and-Truck-CD-Shop-Manual-B1_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5ad3c9baffQQitemZ390100269823QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-1949-Dodge-B-1-Pickup-Truck-Owner-Manual-48-49_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5ad3c9beb0QQitemZ390100270768QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-1949-Dodge-Pickup-and-Truck-Shop-Manual-B1-48-49_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5ad3c9bf79QQitemZ390100270969QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1949-1950-1951-1952-1953-Dodge-Truck-Parts-Book-Manual_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53dda1ac7bQQitemZ360200645755QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-1949-Dodge-Truck-B-1-B-B-1-C-Owners-Owners-Manual_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3ef9899758QQitemZ270474516312QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature This is a great Forum site, you'll enjoy it. 48D
  20. Pretty strong words against GM. I'm a hard core Dodge fan. When I see a lump of a car or truck, I see a vehicle that needs help avoiding the crusher. In today's enviroment, all the old cars are in danger. It may have a chebby engine in it now, but its not gonna see the crusher in a long time if treated right. Someday a kid, who's turned into a man, might have a chance to put that Plymouth back to its original glory. So I can't be short sited....I hope the law makers don't screw things up for my son and future generations. And, I hope that 50' continues to make somebody happy, instead of being melted down to an I beam for a big box store. 48D
  21. I think we should vote George off the forum for using a Chebby engine....lol...hey, just kiddin' You know...my favorite Mopar Wrecking yard is in Portand, Oregon. "Wildcat Auto Wrecking" Those guys are very helpful...emailing photos of what they got and updating thier website fairly often with new arrivals. I'm sure changing the engine is last on your list, but you might find something you need in the future. http://www.wildcatmopars.com/index.htm 48D
  22. Wasn't sure if this was "bring your daugther to the forum day"....but just in case...here's my daughter next to a 66 Ford truck I re-did for money. She hasn't posed next to one of my Dodges yet. But I'll get right on that! lol Nice truck bed Dan.
  23. When you say reworked heads, do you mean you milled them for compression and added larger valves ( ie 1.88 or 2.02)? I like the milled 360 heads with the 1.88 intake 1.60 exhaust and domed Kieth Black pistons(KB167)/ on a 318 block. Gives about 10:1 comp and plenty of HP for the money. From what I've read latley, going up to 2.02 doesn't seem to make a lot of difference on a daily driver. 48D
  24. Really? a Semi-Hemi...very cool. Can you post pictures of it in place? Poly's were 62-65 If I remember.... And I think Reg meant to say 318...not 381. Am I right? 48D
