  2. Happy New Year. How is your health.,  Any progress on the feet / hands issue?  I’m still lying very low with a lingering head cold. It will warn up in about 30 days and will get more active then.  Lyme still lingers.

That’s no good. Sure hope there is help. Its foggy and cold here, so I’m just laying low until it warms up.

  3. Are you enjoying Maine. I'm getting ready for the float hunt.  Not doing much on the truck.  Scored two original headlight lenses for the 33 off of Ebay last week.

I will keep you informed. May I suggest a tour of the woods in your area, unique items, small villages, etc?  I’m more interested in the woods of Maine than the coast.  Much better authentic history.

We get our second shot on the 28th.  What do you hear about the southern border reopening?

Take care, lord willing and the creek doesn’t rise will see you this summer.

Just avoid the yellow snow.  We are still planning to come out in May for an extended stay, Then buy an RV trailer for temp living while we get the property ready for something permanent .

    Hi.   pflaming

Any advise on removing the driver side rear brake drum. Also any guidance on installing a master cylinder on a 47 p15 4door , when I took the tire off there was brake fluid on the back of the steel wheel. As I recall the floor on the driver side was repaired and I think I'll NEED to cut an access if I NEED to go down from the top. Years ago l changed the brake lines, hoses, and wheel cylinders but not the master cylinder. I used silicone brake fluid. The brake pedal is on the floor, any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks  Andy Coukos

I'm not experienced with the little things like should you flush out the old fluid yet I think I would that will flush out ant water as well and then your new  fluid is not a mixture. Some change all fluids in their cars annually I do not..

i do not have an opinion on silicone as opposed to standard .fluid

Yes, on the grinder / cutting disc. It cuts fast and doesn't cut deep. Try to look under before cutting so you have some idea of clearances. Good luck.

Re: rear brake drum. O'Riellys have the puller required to remove the rear drums. Soak the nut and axle over night then remove the castle nut about half way. When the drum pops loose if that nut is not on, that drum is lethal.

I would cut an entry also. The maser cylinder is not difficult to repair, but you must drill out the very small air release hole. I put in a Cherokee dual chamber master cylinder.

but I would bleed the lines first, you may have one leaker, that fixed you are good to go.

  12. Day 19. Getting along fine but have had to learn how to manage pain with ice.

"hot and icy". I will be brief! I noted to my surgeon and three PT's a very, very painful band around the sides and underside just above the incision. Doc and two PT's stated that, damage was not limited to the incision track. The 3rd PT explained that to hold the leg motionless and shut off all down arteries a giant CLA M P was put to use and that clamped area healed slowly. NO KIDDiNG. So last night at midnight I did a deep massage of that pain, then even more deeply redid that massage and added Hot and ICY for lubrication. I have completed this the second time, and will continue again at sun up!! The pain has already let up by 5 or 10 percent. Just the application of locker room 101 at work. It is horrifying to realize that my age group will take to our coffins or urns the magic of applied medicine and our grandkids will suffer under the results of Omama medical theory and under the control of pain by Lobb and Lamb! Thanks to Shak, now I'm beginning to smile also!!

TKS, yes, it's a tough call. I'm going to tough this one out without the opiate, maybe a rough ride for a bit, but it won't last. I am so close to a driver Suburban and can't do anything at the present, very frustrating.

TKS knucleberry, I'm taking only half of what has been prescribed, a rigorous rundown of one large muscle on the side of my thigh and regular icing. So I don't ask if I feel a lingering urge for some help, to pop a pill which seldom happens. I hoping the removal of this STRONG tapedwhich coners the incision, will speed Things upon.  My shop is screaming for some attention!!

  23.  Hey there  pflaming .always real interested in what you have to say because my truck which I just got is a 53 and all of your rebuilding forum entries have really helped me get more information on reworking mine.I seen in one of your rebuilding post that you used a harness from ezwiring and I was wondering which one of the wiring harness is kityou had bought. Also I was wondering what kind of a rear bumper do you have in your truck I have some fabricated steel diamond plate bumper it looks like the one that was posted on Pinterest on the back of a fire department pick up truck and I was wondering if that was a stock bumper that they could order for that application or if it was just aftermarket one because I'd like to go back to her original bumper .I have a 218 stock motor with a four-speed trans I got a neighbor with a 355 Jeep Cherokee rear, I was thinking about putting in instead of their original 4.11 -so I was wondering what kind a road speed  we can I get out of that if I use the 650x16original stock tires and wheels ? What kind of wms difference is there between the the jeep and the original rear? Thanks

      pflaming

Email me at pflaming@mail.fresnostate.edu and I can more quickly respond. In short, I used the $180 harness in my SUBURBAN and I wired the truck myself.. I would NOT spend the money on a harness for the truck (see my reply on email) 2. rear bumpers like mine are hard to find, yet there was never a OEM bumper. 3. I am thinking of putting a 3:55 rear axle behind a four speed because 3rd gear in the combo would be nearly the same as 3rd in a 3:73 combo and 4th then would in effect be an overdrive or cruse drive. I changed to 15" rims and radial tires. The difference in ride and handling is amazing. I also removed the next to bottom leave in all springs for a lower center of gravity and a better ride.

I cruse at 60-65 with my 218 and the 3"73 rear axle, the next gear would drop engine noise in the cab drastically.

I pleased my posts were helpful.
