  1. I did what Merle explained, would never return to the foot pedal. It is still in the truck, just for safekeeping.
  2. Did not know you had a driver beetle. Nice fun cars, I’ve had several, and have a kit car now.
  3. I made this a while back, sure glad I painted it red. Works great. Never like the gauge that comes with the kit.
  4. Thank you. I’m still recovering from the effects of Lyme disease and a broken leg. So basically lost two years. I healing but it is very slow. I’m back in my shop usually after lunch for about three hours. At present my body won’t follow my mind.
  5. My long roof will go back to a daily driver today. Very anxious to find out how it drives.
  6. Leg is pretty much healed, not to get strength back. I should get the suburban legal for a daily driver. Doing mechanical first then cosmetic.

  7. Monday, yesterday, DMV/CHP came to my shop to verify vin numbers for me. On the vehicles they took the engine number. I don’t think DMV cares as long as they get a vin number and we license the vehicles, then they can tax and get revenue accordingly. D the CHP that come out had a list of vehicles to verify, so it is obvious it is a common practice.
  8. Today I returned my suburban to the shop. Went to storage, started it and drove it home. So now begins a next phase. I still only work every other day and even then very carefully. I have a video but too large to post. CHP on Monday! Making progress again.
  9. I just make an appointment with the CHP to get the vin numbers on my project cars. This really surprised me, the inspector wlll come to me and do all at one time, at NO CHARGE. That will really help with time constraints. Friday I got a cortisone shot in the bad legs knee and that really helped, now to get the strength back.
  10. update: as noted earlier, in addition to the lyme infection mid October I broke the small bone in a leg. Been off feet ever since. But I’m starting to walk now without care nor walker. So maybe I can get back into the shop in another month or so I’m about ready to sell all as is , where is but maybe there is enough left in me to finish each and sell. All are at 90% complete. Trust all are well and content. PF.
  11. Yes, po shortened the frame so I only need to get it straight and get it solid. Some good welding will do all that. With a slow healing broken leg, I’ve been out of the ship since early April. I can now walk, not far and not fast but bother will start improving now.
  12. So glad to find you. I will need two temp gauges repaired, where do I send them and at what price for each?  Happy New Yearl. Pauil

  14. Welcome to the Octogenarian Club. Its not much different, just that you get to enjoy things longer, and make new friends every morning.
  15. Leroy, if you come near the Californian Central Valley, where Yosemite NTL Park is, please let me know. I’ll try to hook of with you. What do you mean by “I’ll be trailering”?
  16. I would note where forum members are and make certain my route would include such every 200 miles or less. Update on broken leg. I now have a walking boot and starting to get back some balance, so on the mends. Merry Christmas to all!
  17. This coming Thursday I see the surgeon and get a different cast. I hope it is a walking one. Here is same information on a broken leg. One can work with one arm, eye, ear but if one leg is gone, you lose your arms, and your eyes and ears work differently. So, protect those feet and legs.
