As Nifty said, just a hole in the "center" to have the wires come out.  My guess is they used a different light and they wacked those areas out to get it to fit.

Silicone is bad for metal contact....I never use it around metal.

AS for the color to paint, WHITE actually is the better choice over silver/metallic.  Many years of playing lighting engineer taught me this.

I've seen may kits for trucks, everybody loves Horky, and while Bruce is a great guy, his stuff isn't right for Dodge trucks 100%.  Same goes with Mar-K and the like.  If you have a small bit of woodworker in you, doing it yourself isn't that hard,  especially if you aren't looking for the polished fancy wood route and want a black painted stock bed or one that you will use.  Even if you don't have the original boards to use as templates, it's not that hard.  I have a whole thread on doing a bed yourself and there are other threads as well.

I don’t post many pictures, but I have enjoyed looking at everyone else’s projects so here’s what I’ve been able to accomplish with a lot of advice and information from everybody here.  This has been a little over a year and half project to this point, with a lot more to go. Complete tear down and rebuild of my wife’s great uncle’s pickup that he bought new in 1948. It sat in a pasture since 1964 after his passing until we brought it to our place in May of 2018. It sure was a pretty cool moment when the motor fired for the first time in 55 years.

I've seen a few other trucks like that as well.  Not the look I'd go for, but his truck, his look.

There are wheel repair kits out there (I used a POR product on FEF).  You V out the crack, fill it with an epoxy sand down and refinish.

do you plan on trimming they welting between the grill and fender?  Should not be proud of the surface.  I used a body caulk there so keep it below the surface.  Hindsight I would have bought a large piece of thin rubber and cut new gaskets.

Interesting a vendor is repopping these parts, curious as to why they say the COE is different than the others...as it's not.  Curious if they fit well or not as well.  Who wants to be the Guinea pig?

I have my supply secured for Armageddon so I'm not looking for more.  I know Windy Hill has a truck or two in their yard with glass still in the cab.
