  1. tell you what, I'll push 50 if you want to pay for the engine rebuild! I had FEF up to 52MPH and it was screaming!
  2. then you can "race ahead" and let me know of road conditions! You could always tow me!
  3. I'd be more up for that next year (driving FEF out) with that much forewarning and some more miles under the belt. HEad out Friday (maybe caravan w/ Ed) and head back Sunday....
  4. it would be the easiset. If the trailer I just bought wasn't gonna be really cool in a year or so, it has a 1/2 ton front end on it for an axel...I'd be bale to help you out, but maybe someone else will be able to!
  5. should be able to make that, just won't be driving FEF...3.5 hours at 75mph on the interstate vs MAYBE 40mph on back roads....
  6. drum size should be different as well. I'm running my original 4.3 one ton rear end and if you EVER want to go above 45mph, swap it out. EDIT, I had the gear ratio wrong, it's 4.3
  7. the stamped ones are earlier than the tube style. I'm looking for a passenger tube type if you ever find one. For the internal rear view mirror, lots got made out of a non stock one by just drilling a hole, the stock ones have a flat area where the mirror mounts. I'm looking for one of those as well. Anythign you are looking for? I got some stuff laying around, and plan on hitting a local yard to pull parts for forum members soon.
  8. stmped bracket (right one) is pre-51 maybe pre 50. The one on the left, did it come off the passenger side? If so, would you be willing to part with it?
  9. very similar to what I think PHTD would look like.
  10. shot of the "assembly" upside down using my NOS wingnut. Notice plenty of thread to mount everything for the radial. Bear in mind the hex head bolt is threaded thru the bottom of the frame rail, so there will be about 3/4" more thread past the wing nut once tightened.
  11. NICE! Super jealous! Noticed the center of your tailgate doesn't have the center support mine does?
  12. I bought a Millermatic 180 that goes up to 5/16" thick steel. Paid about $800 on sale if I remember right. Bear in mind that welders are "rated" for that top thickness, but go bigger if you truly want to weld that thick of material. I'm comfortable mine will do 1/4" just fine, but that 5/16" is pushing the welder. Tank lease/rental was $400.
  13. welcome, post pictures! We are picture whores!
  14. here I was hoping it was for NOS!
  15. no haven't had a chance yet to play with the sender, but it was brand new, so....guess we'll see in about a week. Just hoping the hole in the floor board line up enough to pull it easily.
  16. the bolts are in, wingnut still in production. The CAD plated one is the original with the spacer for in the frame cross member.
  17. I'll try anf get some pics up later today YOU LUCKY DOG! SCORE OF THE CENTURY!
  18. I think its off a "B" sized truck...can anyone tell what year? Fenders tell me 51 or older....
  19. No farm stickers on this one, but another grain chute! Owner had no idea of history sadly.
  20. went and picked this up tonight for $50 off craigslist. Hat tip to townwagon for finding it. Tires were REALLY checked, had to use fix-a-flat on one tire. 160 miles round trip, 75 MPH on the way up and 50-55mph on the way home. Stopped at YoungEd's to get my front sump oil pan. Plan is to fix it up after FEF is done and have a tow trailer for stuff I don't want in FEF's bed. Trailer runs very true and hardley noticed it there except for the constant watch on the tires. Axel is the front axel mounted on the front springs stuck on a homemade frame. Tie rod welded to the frame. If it drives me nutty, I'll have some bed sides for someone that are in pretty good shape overall.
  21. no gas in the oil, leaning towards a bad sending unit....sad, it was brand new when the tank was "re-Nu'd"
