  1. we should ask the admin to create a paint code section some place so it's easier to find for the future people that won't remember this thread and this will get rehashed again. And we could add codes for our trucks/cars so if someone likes the color it's at their fingertips w/o a ton of searching. I know it took me a while on the phone with my paint guy looking at the RAL webpage to settle on the "right" cross ref color and this would have saved me a TON of time/headache!
  2. good idea! I'll ask the lady here at work whose husband runs a rad shop!
  3. hmmm, well all I have is gas for stoves...so I ordered a new one from Roberts for now. That way I can play with this and not be down for too long, or then have a spare.
  4. everything is in the mail as of today except the bumper and rear panel truck door. Please let me know if you don't get your parts! I DO have the pair of grill bars from a mid-50's available!
  5. do you know if he has and sending unit floats?
  6. welcome! nice project you have started!
  7. finally pulled the sender tonight...brass float has some fluid in it...so my guess is that is the problem! Issues: how do I fix the float? how do I know I fixed it? I had to bend the float wire to get it out of the tank...had no choice, I could NOT get it finagled out, I assume I can straigten it back out The float wire has been brazed back together in two spots is that normal? After fiddling with it to get it out, I don't know the orientation to put it back in once fixed? I currently have some duct tape covering the sender hole....is there any issues with that for now? While I have the sender out, how do I test it (where do I put the second probe for teh ohm meter and what should the range be?) thanks guys! I think I have some of these answers, but always like confirmation.
  8. I've always like the concept of running about 50000V thru as a security system...
  9. my paint guy matched to the RAL colors. Sadly he never gave me the codes. I could bug him again for the codes?
  10. does it correct the spelling of "iphone" to "overpricedpieceofApplecrapphone?
  11. sorry, I don't have any more, I pulled all that were out there.....and those are spoken for...
  12. welcome! good looking start to your project. I plan a turbo diesel for my next truck in a few years, you are right spendy! Just don't toss the old engine parts out! I'm sure you'll be able to pass them on to a fellow forum member!
