  1. wow, and I've been search for those daily! You will now have the "list" to restore!
  2. wonder if it'd be better to paint that the red of my truck? The other red might clash?
  3. Gettign close to being able to remount the "D-O-D-G-E" on the front clip. Revewing peoples pictures it seems painting the "blank" parts of the letters (inside of O etc)is hit and miss, mine seems to have remanants of red paint on those areas. What is "correct"?
  4. I'll check the local Ace, RS didn't seem to have that exact style, was going to call them later today. Confirmed the ones in McMaster are the wrong sizes.
  5. for the restoration on my truck I seem to be missing seeral of the nuts below. Does anyone have some extra's they can parts with? Modern ones (at least from Fastenal and McMaster) do not look the same and I want the "original" look. thanks!
  6. mine looks a lot like this in shape: http://www.ebay.com/itm/260839641657?_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=260839641657&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&vxp=mtr or would these work as well? http://www.ebay.com/itm/120852515219?_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=120852515219&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&vxp=mtr what WAS original?
  7. Mine is all shiney plated steel, so at least nickel plated. Biggest thing again is there anything I need to look for for venting on a "new" cap? I'm assuming the cap is a venting cap, or you'd collapse the tank?
  8. Is your extra in good shape? What you looking for trade?
  9. My gas cap is pretty beat up/can't really be rechromed, I've been watching Epay and not much luck there...what shoudl I watch out for? Venting, etc?
  10. you will almost ALWAYS make more parting out than a whole truck IMO
  11. I'm using the POR15 wheel repair kit, comes with everything but the final paint.
  12. well the POR15 is still on my hands from 3 days ago....so it must be good! I slobbered the insides of my doors the other night.
  13. yep, seems it needs to move back about 1/4", so the holes will have to get welded up and reapinted.... I'll drill holes once the hood is mounted so this doesn't hapen again.....
  14. when mine got replaced, Brake & Equipment had to grind down a flat to get mine to sit in, mine being a 1 ton might be different tho. Have you tried a local brake shop? Otherwise you can try calling B&E and see if they can help ya. (612) 378-3141
  15. yep, I can get it to sit down, needs to move back a bit. Let me play tonight and I'l report back.
  16. the problem will be the hole in the front. That is close to the leading edge of the ornament. The onrament doesn't have anything that will keep it from sitting down. Shoulda waited and drilled the holes post paint..... I'ts not just a little, by eyeballing the front hole the back was up over 1/2"! Dave, I might just send this back w/ your wife when she drops those parts off and have you fill the holes and drill them when the hood is mounted.
  17. so you made me curious, and over lunch I tried to line up my ornament with the holes I drilled....and they don't line up....something got tweaked during the tear apart of the hood for paint. The question will now be if I need to fill those holes, repaint and redrill or not. Dave had to do a little welding on the hood so I may have drilled the holes in the wrong location once Dave got the welding done to put the center back where it belonged or I can try to tweak the center back....sigh....and I thought I was being so clever! After work I'll get some bolts in it and see where she lands..
  18. then you won't be calling tonight....glad to hear it all is worked out!
  19. I'd agree w/ 49dodge1ton...keeps ya from "oopsing" on the gas pedal area when you aren't using your throttle control for cruise control
