  1. where I currently sit using the POR product. Very easy to use.
  2. that one is made to mount under the dash, not in the plate below the speaker grill. I am looking for one of those as well, seems we might eventually (if one shows up) be bidding against each other.
  3. NICE! SO ready to get mine to that status! Lights might be a ground issue? Seems that is a VERY common issue with anything electrical on these trucks.
  4. more along the frame and cross member behind the clip.
  5. man, that'd be such a waste! At least pull parts off you know will go to a good home if you end up scrapping (fuel pump, manifolds, air filter, gas tank, turn signal switch, any shields, etc). In fact if you DO scrap it I'd take that air filter in a heart beat.
  6. you mean this picture? If so that is a shield for under the engine up front below the rad (I think fuel pump side, I'd have to put it in place to make sure).
  7. I popped the probe back out of the block last night and stuck it in boiling water...still works well, so it seems these things can take quite the clamping!
  8. just looking towards the hardware, not the carrier itself.
  9. I'm doing my truck wheel with the POR steering wheel product kit. Took a little time to get used to, but once I got the hang of it it was super easy to smooth and get where I needed it (all depends on the amount of water on your fingers, need just the right amount). The wheel is sanded and ready for primer & paint, I just haven't had time to get to that yet. I'm happy at this stage with the results.
  10. ok, I FINALLY got a note back from my contact about making a run of these per the measurments I took of my (sorta) beat up one. How many of you guys would be willing to pay about $20 for a repop on these? I'm gonna have to lay out a bit of money to get 100 of these made. I just want to make sure I'm not putting myself DEEEEEEEP into a hole if I pull the trigger. Still working on repops of the bolts.
  11. I made a puller out of some plywood and oak with a large 1/2" threaded rod. Left the nut on the, tightened it down and a quick rap with a dead blow and she popped right off.
  12. I just centered mine, no room for much of anything else and the parts book shows nothing there either.
  13. ok, thanks. I put a split lock ring LW under the screw heads and tightened nice and snug....here's hoping I didn't crush anything! Guess I'll find out in a few weeks.
  14. so how tight should I put the two screws on the hold down? I don't want to crush my functioning temp gauge capilary! Should I have split lock washers on the screws?
  15. I plan on getting that all install in two weeks, if not sooner. First I have to go cheer the GOPHERS on in the Frozen Four in Tampa for the next 5 days!
  16. mine had one on the engine side of the firewall already and I plan on putting that back in. Seems everyone I've seen had that union for the exact reason you state, and ease of installation.
  17. mine had traces of red paint in the "holes" of the letters and on the bars. So I'd say that was original.
  18. YoungEd MAY have found the fitting. If they are wrong, I might just stub the line and stick a union on and call it a day, no one would ever know and the tube right by the fitting is n good shape.
  19. considering what's been done to the poor boy, my guess is they chopped the frame down to "rod" it.
  20. oh yah and I forgot to say, I checked continuity between the gauge cluster and the ground..and ZERO resistance! WOOHOO!
