  1. Thanks Guy's! The numbers are correct, I must have measured the head wrong. If you have any more ideas to upgrade the engine, please let me know.
  2. I would like to upgrade my engine with duel carbs but I am not 100% on the size of my engine. It is a 49 Truck, the block is 25 inches long and the numbers are TI42*72099* if it helps. I was looking at an Offenhauser intake with round ports from Langdon Stovebolt SKU-10-1035. Can anyone verify this is the right fit for my application? It fits a 235 or 261 and I am guessing mine is the 235 but again not sure. Any help would be great!
  3. Can anyone provide me with the alignment specifications for my 49 B1B? The place I need to take my truck does not want to do the work unless I can provide them with the information. Thanks for the help!
  4. I am having the front end of my 49 B1B aligned. Does anyone know the correct specs or should the owner of the shop just get as close as he can?
  5. Wow, that was easy. I checked their online catalog and found nothing so I took a chance and gave them a call. Sure enough they had one and it is cheaper than the one I missed on Ebay last week. Thanks for the lead. Payton
  6. Does anyone know a source where I can purchase a sending unit for my gas tank (1949)? I have looked, left emails with no luck.
  7. Andy Bernbaum motor parts is the name of the site. www.oldmoparts.com I believe is the address. Try that and see what you find. I came across it be accident one day. Happy Hunting, Payton
  8. I could not find a reproduction tank either (AND I looked) I did not want to do to much fabrication under the truck either. I have mine at the local radiator shop now being cleaned up and coated inside and out. Did your local shop tell you it was beyond repair? It's amazing what a few of these guys can do to an old tank if you motivate them with a few dollars. After I do get mine back in a few days one thing they couldn't help me with was a new sending unit. Anyone in the Fourm have a source for one that fits a 48-53 tank?
  9. Thanks everyone for the help. I received a lot of good information and sites to investigate. I have been online all morning checking out all the options. Now the only proplem is choosing the correct setup and of course installation.
  10. I am trying to locate some parts so I can get my 49 on the road in the spring. I saw a split manifold setup with duel carbs a long time ago and wanted to know if anyone knew where I could get my hands on a set? I am looking for the exhaust manifold as well. It looks like the head is 23 inches long so help with the engine size would be great. I would hate to order wrong parts. Thanks, Payton
