  1. OK Nelson....black it is!!!!! J Lo finally got her new powder coated rims and big 750/16 tires installed. The old tires were 28" tall and these new ones are 31" tall. Who needs 3.54 gears with these tires????? No trim rings yet. Kinda like the plain look for now. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!
  2. Mornin Claybill, Well....I went with black and will install the stock button caps and beauty rings. If the son in law would get his darn ford off my rack I'd have these installed by now. Guess I'll have to go back to the old way of changing tires cause the son in law is waiting for some parts and his Expedition is all apart in my lift bay. Darn kids ( he's only 48)
  3. 48 WN, That's one tough lookin TRUCK! Are ya sure ya need to tear it down? Looks good the way it is.
  4. I'll be of no help here. I like them both!!!! My wheels are 16" so full wheel covers are out of the question on my 42. Upon striping the latest paint off my rims I could tell that the rims were black with 3 pin stripes originally so I went that. BusinessC, Can you post some more photos of your car for us to see? How about a profile too.
  5. Your car hasn't been converted to 12 volts has it and you are replacing the left one with a 6 volt bulb? Sorry.....it's just the first thing that popped into my mind but I may have a loose screw or my wires crossed.
  6. Thanks for the rim color suggestions guys. I went with my own gut feeling and went for the "Early Mud Runnin" look. What do ya think? Just kidding;) ..... the rims have been powder coated and my new WW's finally arrived so J Lo's borrowing some wheels from an old truck until I get the tire store to mount the new tires. Film at 11....tomorrow.
  7. I converted my 52 1/2 ton to 12 volt neg. gnd. almost 10 years ago. My 6 volt electric wipers would not work with a voltage reducer for some reason so I removed it and have been running them on the slow setting on the 2 speed switch ever since.
  8. Well I didn't want to say anything but......from the looks of Brad's Cheshire grin I have a pretty good idea where the Princesses left hand may be. Brad...do you still have your wallet?
  9. You will probably be able to find the original paint under the gold paint with some laquer thinner on a rag. The gold paint should come off rather easily before the original paint does.
  10. On the tank engine.....where do you insert the hand crank when the battery is low?
  11. Welcome to the Forum Gary. By your handle it looks like you might own a 35 Plymouth too. Cool ! Any photos of your vehicles you can post here? The 610T's are about as common as Hens teeth. I know where one is but I'm not tellin where. I'm waitin for them to leave home for a while.
  12. I got my stainless fender welt from www.robertsmotorparts.com I have not installed it yet so I can't report on that. It came in an 8' long mailing tube with a 1 x 2 x 8' piece of wood attached to it to prevent damage in shipping. If I remember correctly it wasn't cheap.
  13. I second that emotion Charles. I'm gonna go play the CD right now.
  14. Thanks Dutch ! Great link. Here's another Holiday Greeting. Recipe to follow. http://www.jingleshells.com/flash_content/flash_content.html
  15. Hey....I've got one ,like on the blue coupe ,on the front of mine. Am I backward?
  16. It could be Ed. Maybe that's why the return spring wouldn't pull back enough. I'll have to check down lower for the cotter pin. Jim.....here's how my speedo cable is routed. I think it's original on my 52. Not sure on the 48-50's Man, it's time to install the new firewall pad.
  17. Here's the original clip on my 52. I couldn't get a spring that pulled the linkage back to idle position.
  18. Thanks for the photo Bob. I'll especially need to use it when I install my stiff stainless welt.
  19. I have to admit it. I had to install a second spring over to the inner fender panel to get it to idle properly.
  20. Well Bob, Ya know....I'm glad you asked. I live up here in the Gold Country of California and Vodka or VAKA or VAHKAH, like GOLD,is where you find it. I put this little directional sign together early one weekday morning as you can tell by the spelling I chose. Note to self: Wine give me a headache almost instantly. VAKA ,at least, has the decency to wait for about 8 hrs.
  21. Many thanks to Allan and Bob! It's printing now. Merry Christmas to all and move over 2006.
  22. For the cost of shipping.
  23. No go...says Page Can Not Be Displayed.
  24. You Pilot House guys nailed it. My truck has a 251 in it so I couldn't compare it to my engine. OK Don....now ya know what you're gettin !.......unless one of you Pilot House guys needs it.
  25. Here's a photo of a Ford flattie oil pan. Still in pursuit of trivia I guess. I'll get a photo of the inside tomorrow bmt47p-15.
