  1. We used to disconnect the battery after getting it started. If it quite, alt. or VR is bad. If it ran then bad battery. Can't do that with newer vehicles now as closed loop.
  2. We used to call them knuckle busters.
  3. Merle, I have found out that brass connectors will last longer then the plated copper. After market appear to be the cheaper copper contacts. My .02
  4. My quess would be a security guards key fob.
  5. Could the "P" mean the plant location. Plymouth MI. maybe?
  6. Just have to wait and see how it works out I guess. If Obama does get a second term, his true side will be out. Everything he wants to have passed will be pushed. (yippee) On another note; When I vacationed in England in 2004, the news was about all the "glassing" attacks. People using bottles or pints to slice each other up.
  7. In the back seat of dads Hudson Hornet looking at the new puppy we just got laying on the seat next to dad and going for a ride. It was in 1960 when I was 5.
  8. Thanks BobT for the AOk. Rockwood- Like all laws, once made it can take two life times to remove. The 3rd generation by then hasn't got a clue what it was all about and wondered why it was put on the books anyway. My .02c. Case in point is the alcohol laws here in the 1930's. Didn't do a damn thing exept make people go underground and make their own. And allowed the crime gangs to get rich. All that money could have gone to taxs to help an economy that was in a depression.
  9. Seems that both sides of the border have more than a few questionable laws. (Sorry to the OP, did not try to highjack the original intent of the post.)
  10. Robert- Seems Canada is more to the British side according to your firearm laws.
  11. Try these sites. http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html This is a good visual comparator. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
  12. Bamfordsgarage, That Chrysler looks the same as one that the Chrysler dealership in Vestal, N.Y. has. Same color and everything. He had it completely restored and it was used for his daughters wedding. Mathews Chrysler/Jeep. Chrysler canceled the dealership couple years ago and now sells used vehicles. Planet Auto I think is the name(?).
  13. Is that the Salesman model? Salesmen would use the big trunk for all their product.
  14. CT, Have you squirted 30 weight oil into a cylinder then check compression? If PSI goes up then bad rings. If not, then timing or valves not sealing completely. Worth a try.
  15. SKIPPER1, Maybe you can use a 6 volt bulb to illuminate the gauge.
  16. Ken, Maybe you could use rubber boots for stick shift for the pedal seals. They have a small diameter hole and corregated (sp?) to allow compression against the opening.
  17. DollyDodge. Could the parts be specific right and left side? Have you tried to switch them to see if any better? Just a thought.
  18. Merle, Ground the horn connection going to the steering wheel. If it beeps the horn is good. If not then check the horn adjustment bolt inside. If it does work, check the wire connection (rivet ?) where it goes to the ring.
  19. Binghamton, N.Y. area up to $3.53 a gallon. Was $3.37 2 days ago.
  20. Mackster, The grease probably was flung onto the armature and brushes causing it to spin too slowly. Take it apart and clean, then use proper viscosity oil on the oil lite bearings. Might save you a few bucks.
  21. Looks like the removal tool for the rear tire skirts. Chrysler or Imperial.
  22. Suntennis, Back the 60's, dad would use 4 quarts kerosene with one quart oil and new filter. Run for 5 minutes then drain and change filter. Always cleaned insides with no problems. Ran smoother and no knocking afterwards. Really helped a congested engine that was running bad.
  23. Ask your local radiator shop how to package it. They may even have the correct package you can buy or one that can be modified for your radiator.
  24. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure all of us did something stupid during a rebuild. I know I did.
