  1. Hook a come a long to the front frame and yank it to where ever you need it. Don't wait for any more ideas here...Get ER DONE!
  2. As long as your wheels will fit on it and you swap the 10 spline pinion yokes. Or swap your drums and backing plates to it and not use the 12" chrysler brakes.
  3. The taper is larger on the NY and Imperial large hub drums.
  4. If you swap the whole 1951 chrysler V8 axle into your coronet... there could be one major problem ..... large bolt pattern drums. This issue is only if the rear end is from a 1951 or 52 NewYorker or Imperial car. V8 Saratoga's came with a Hemi too but used the small hub six cylinder plymouth/Dodge hub drums. But the drum size is 12". Here is a picture of a a four pinion /2 side gear barrel type differential out of a 1951 Chrysler NewYorker... typical 3.73 ratio. As mentioned need to check everthing before swapping parts especially Chrysler to other car lines.
  5. The 1951 newYorker, Saratoga and short WB Imperials used a 3.73 ratio 10 bolt rear end. Six cylinder car models used a 11 bolt rear end. Pumpkins don't interchange. The 1951-53 Chrysler NewYorkers Imperials ect with Fluid Torque Drive and M6 did not use a engine fed converter. They had a built in oil sump on the bottom of the bell housing. The Chrysler Windsor 265 six cylinder cars with FTD were the ones with the engine fed torque converter. The Fluid Drive models (Fluid Coupling) are all simple and self contained.
  6. The 1951 chrysler Saratoga, NewYorkers, and the non 145" WB Imperial 331 Hemi cars used a 3.73 rear end 10 bolt gasket. NOT 11 bolt holes as used on 6 cylinder cars. The 331 V8 chryslers did not use a engine fed converter on Fluid Torque Drive cars. A built in bell housing sump fed the torque converter. Six cylinder 265 Windsors used the engine fed converters for FTD cars.
  7. Some old car parts dealers sell replacement poor quality parts that need to go to the scrap pile not on a car.. They will keep selling them as long as they can still make a profit off them. I see it every week. VPW parts are good.
  8. These are the kinda things to find in a barn...... Horses pigs chickens and cows!....
  9. A barn Find description of a recently found car or anything else now days I think is used to make it seem more exciting and creates more story drama. The Barn Find also makes the buyer feel absolutely sure that he got an excellent buy even though the car or item was way over priced! As long as everyone is happy all is good.
  10. Hmmmmm... Grease flow...Odd answer. They made up gaskets that blocked oil flow.
  11. The B4 nameplate originally was fully chromed and was also came on 1952 Dodge cars............on the dash. One very cheap nameplate as the chrome flaked of easily!
  12. Morris Sarnoff is a 1941-1948 Chrysler Guy. He sold parts for these chryslers for many years. He must be at least 80-90 years old by now!
  13. Morris Sarnoff in New Jersey used to sell the "real" genuine Chrysler Red Highlander Plaid material. I don't know if he is even still alive. I bought 6 yards of it back in the 70's from him @ $45.00 yard. The original cloth is 100% wool. Replacement material is a little different in color/pattern and weight.
  14. Some 1950 Chrysler C49 N-Yorker temp guage tests.....
  15. My 1950 Chryslers all run a bit above the 2nd mark as shown on 80-90 day temp degree drives. Right about 170 degrees. Shut em down and heat soak runs the guage almost to 3/4 of the guage. Radiators have been cleaned... blocks clean with good D tubes. Both six and eight cars run this way.
  16. Those two 1/8" rubber round seal pins go in slots in the aluminum plate at the front of the engine. The large curved section of the oil pan seals against it. You cannot install these two seals unless the timing cover is removed for access to one of the bolts that retains this aluminum plate. Bob
  17. Export Fargo built truck? Fargo world Globe fits in center trim moulding? Wait a minute that round piece looks added on by an old man like the cluster to the right! Never mind
  18. Thats correct. Center brake light only.
  19. My 52 Belvedere has the brace and washer as did all the other 52's I have parted out over the years.
  20. You installed the four end cone nuts backwards against the thick countersunk brass washers. You need to turn them around Some pix....
  21. Show us the rod and main bearings... possible seizure cause?
