  1. Is any of that in English? Asking for a friend.
  2. The content of those ads have nothing to do with this web site. They are linked to the browsing history of your computer when you sign in. Someone in his house has been visiting porn sites,so he is getting porn site ads. i SUSPECT that many of he web sites that are popular that we all visit sell our searches,and/or the ads we respond to,and then sell them on the open market to anyone that wants to buy them. My prime suspect at first was Amazon, but AFAIK,Amazon doesn't sell or rent porn,so now I suspect it is pretty much all the providers that are selling the URL's we all visit. Not much that can be done about it AFAIK. Even if you delete your browsing history after every web session, they still have a list of the web sites you visited that day if they want to buy them.
  3. Lighten up,Lucille. If you don't like them, don't look at them. Truth to tell,I have been on this board for years, and honestly don't even remember seeing anything like male enhancement ads. Then again,I am here for the cars and trucks, and just ignore the ads. It's not hard to do. Try it. Ok,out of curiousity,I just checked the ads I got when I logged on a few minutes ago. They are all ads for shoes, and I was doing a search for shoes on Amazon a few days ago. Amazon, like other retailers, sell your search info with other companies,so it SEEMS like there MAY be someone with access to your computer doing searches for things you don't approve of. Truth to tell,I am more than a little steamed at Amazon for exposing me to these other retailers.
  4. I love them, too. I even used to remember how to do most of this stuff myself, and as I have posted before, loved working on them more than I loved driving them. Now things have came full-circle,and thanks to chemo brain,I CRS,and the build threads sometimes ring distant bells, which makes me feel good.
  5. Yeah, that's why I always try to make sure I am home before dark, and my normal drivers are modern trucks with 12 v systems and modern headlights. Then again,as long as I can still see well enough to drive in the daytime,I have nothing to complain about. Since I quit drinking a couple of decades ago,I seem to have no reason to be out after dark.
  6. I may be wrong, but I think that is an aftermarket hubcap. I kinda vaguely remember them being for sale in the 60's,and liking them then.
  7. It occured to me maybe 20 years ago that I fool around with old cars to give me an excuse to buy tools. I usually lose interest in the cars after a few months, and put them up for sale. I have never put any tools up for sale.
  8. I think many posters here would take an interest in it.
  9. I don't know this for a fact, but I would almost be willing to bet money your local NAPA store has a parts number for you. I have bought and used several of them over the years, and they all came from NAPA. I guess if all else fails you could have a machine shop weld it up,grind it down, and case harden it,but I would check every source possible before I spent that much money.
  10. I have to admit I was disappointed at not seeing a road test, but after seeing the rear wheel bearings,I understand why there wasn't one. All that other stuff is nice, but to me it's all about driving them. And I do honestly think you are going to be surperised at just how good it drives and rides. Nothing back then drove and rode like Mopars, and this is coming from a guy with multiple brand cars, including a flat 6 51 Ford business coupe that I flat out LOVE. I haven't driven every make American car of the 50's,but I do believe the Mopars had the best brakes, too.
  11. That ship is the "Mayflower:",bubba. I apologize to anyone who thinks the above may have been a bit harsh or rude. I didn't intend it to be that way,but looking back on it I can see how others might think so. My intention was to emphatize the Mopar intended connection to America. After all,the Mayflower played a key role in creating America. When I posted the above,I wasn't thinking about me being a geezer and that was why I knew and remembered that. Of course,no on under 40 or so would make the connection but a history freak. My apologies to anyone offended.
  12. Sometimes people modify their cars, just to have something to do on their cars. If it runs better or faster, good! If it runs slower or rougher, maybe even mo betta because that gives you an excuse to mess with it some more.
  13. You get what you want? BTW,getting 300 HP out of a 330 or larger hemi is no big deal if that is what you want to do.
  14. Why not find out what it is worth as scrap, and then put it up for sale at the scrap section on this board's for sale section? Make them happy, make your wife happy, and in the end,it will make you happy. Win/win for everyone.
  15. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mopar flatheads! And it seems like you started out with a very nice one. Please don't hesitate to ask any question about your new ride that pops into your head. There are a lot of people here who are very knowledgable about this cars, and they will all be happy to advise you. I suspect you will soon discover this is the friendliest "newbie" board on old cars on the web.
  16. If it is a S-22,you will find S-22 stamped on a raised surface on the front of the block on the passenger side. I never really bothered looking for a serial number,so I can't help you there.
  17. The big thing is the block. If it has the S-22 code stamped on the block,it is the real deal and not a standard engine someone put a 4brl on. If it is the S-22,do NOT scrap it because there is bound to be a restorer here that would buy it from you. AFAIK,S-22's are very rare engines.
  18. No disagreement. My statement about lube is lube was related to any type of lube is better than none.
  19. Not hard. Just make sure you have a rosebud tip (I THINK that's what they are called) to SLOWLY preheat the cast iron to a red glow before you start the brazing, and make sure you have both parts clamped rigidly so they don't move. Run your torch aceletene rich.
  20. I have one on the rear of my beater 03 Ranger pu, I put the camera on the inside of the sun visor on the driver side. The camera light up when I flip the visor down, and turns off again when I flip it back up. It remains unseen unless I flip the visor down. Think I paid something like $39.95 a few years ago.
  21. Looks like some nice castings. I much prefer the 3x1 intakes, though. They are awful hard to find these days, though. Even for a Mopar. I was insanely lucky to find a 3x1 intake and matching finned aluminum head for my flat 6 51 Ford. I honestly couldn't even remember the last time I even saw a photo of them, and it must have taken me a micro-mini-second to pound on the "BIN" button. Now,if I can just find a set of cast iron headers........ Got lucky and bought both of my Mopar flat 6 finned aluminum heads from The Dodge boys when they first started making them. VERY low serial numbers on them, too. It was semi-easy to find the Mopar 3x1 intakes and even easier to find and buy the cast iron headers. Yeah,I LOVE inlines.
  22. I honestly don't believe I could sell a running and driving 55 DeSoto 2dr ht for any price, unless it was enough for me to be able to buy a 55 DeSoto convertible. I did buy a 4dr parts car a few years ago to get the hemi, trans, and the grille. The grille is going in my 51 Ford coupe. It was probably worth more than the rest of the car. Still,I found somebody that wanted the car for the sheet metal and bumpers,so I helped him load it on his trailer and waved goodby to it. I bought it to get the engine and trans for my 33 Ply coupe, but found out it was a S-22 that still had the original 4brl intake and carb on it,so I would rather find a restorer with a 2dr ht or a convertible and sell it to them. It blows my mind that somebody ordered a 4dr sedan new in 55 with the S-22 engine. I now plan on putting the 331 DeSoto engine from a junker 56 4dr in the 33. It is a base 2brl engine, but I have a 6 carb intake for it to brighten things up a bit.
