  1. Just got done reading an old post saying to take the floor board out. think i will try that tomorrow morning.
  2. Ok so i put alittle penatrating oil down the spark plug wholes and a good amount of marvel oil and letting it set. I went to take the starter out so I could clean it up but have no idea on how to get the inside bolt off. Any suggestions?
  3. alll the valves move. the problem i got is that she dont crank fast enought to start.
  4. yeah i removed all wires for the starter before jumping it. i was thinking of put penatrating oil into the spark plug opennings. will this work to lossen the engine.
  5. Just started to work on my 48 b1b pilot house. First thing i wanted to do is to see if i can get the engine to turn over. So i hooked up jumper cable to the starter with a 12v battery and starter spun. Then went to manuel crank the motor in the front but didnt have the key to do so. So i removed the front clip to get to the front of the motor. I had to take a big digging bar to spin the motor. got it free, went around a bunch of times. Went back to the jumpers connected to the 12v bat and neg to frame and pos to the starter pos pole. it cranks but very slowly. not sure what to do next. Also the man that gave it to me said the motor was rebuilt about a year before he parked it. Thanks for any help you can gave me. Joe
  6. 52 fargoman thinks for the info. i was thinking of using a 97 to 04. you using the engine and trans on your truck.

  8. hello new to the forum. costumer just give me a 48 pilot house which has a good body but everthing else is questionable? what year dakota is best? thanks
  9. Hi Arthur,

I hope things are going well for you.

I managed to get a brake drum from Wayfarerstranger. I bought some other things from him, a window crank and cover was in reasonable condition, a turn signal kit was just me giving him my money. He said it was $30 for a new kit and my price was $50 CDN...so I asked him to get one for me. He sent me something that was not even complete, let alone new. Chance said he was sorry for the mixup and offered to have me send back this one, send him $29 more and pick up shipping of the new one. Long story short, I bought a new one here and lost the $30US and shipping of that. It just put a bad taste in my mouth dealing with him.

Anyway, Arthur, I was at the mechanic's today and he showed me the emergency brake drum. It looked like an ice cream cone with the edges bitten all around. Strange, but true. Do you happen to have one? This is for a 48 D24 4-door Sedan.

Please let me know and thanks for listening.

    Rick
