    I bought mine from Napa but that was years ago. See if someone has one that doesn't work and that would send it to you. Take it apart (slowly) and see how it's assembled?

    Take one wire off of the the back of the fuel gauge. Take an ohm reading across the two posts. You're looking for something in the 40-60 ohm range. If it's infinite, you've got a broken wire in the windings. I've got extra gauges if needed.

    '51 has a different nose. The nut on the oil line spins free of the hard line. Might just need some teflon tape ? Here's some pic's of my old '49:

    Be VERY careful removing the center portion from the speed cup shaft! Break the speed cup shaft and you're hunting for another speedo.
