  1. Every time I take my car out somebody has to say "cool rat rod". It's a term made up by people who don't have a clue. It's all interpretation. To me a '65 mustang with a 6 cyl isn't a muscle car, but hey who cares. nether is a pt cruiser, but they show up to the car shows don't they? Last year my neighbors award winning, magazine cover, 40' ford (insured at 70k) had 3 problems found by the nsra judges,1 of them was a brake problem, 1 was a electrical. My car is a year too new, but for fun I had them "safety inspect it" They found 1 thing, a 2" crack in one windshield. But his is considered a top quality car, and mine an "unsafe rat rod" I love people who ask when I will paint it. The paint is a ppg custom mix, it was actually gloss black for all of about an hour. It took the sinister look away, so it went back in the booth, got scrubbed, and reshot.
  2. 73 k for a 53 Black shadow is actually cheap.
  3. I had a very similar problem, It turned out to be the centrifugal advance under the breaker plate, They use to "grease" them. I had to take it apart and clean the hell out of it to remove the sticky residue. The vac advance tested fine, but it only controls part of the mechanism. The side I am talking about is the weighted spring side.
  4. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Quit telling people it's nice here. lol It's a secret. "Nothin but double wides and tornado's I tell ya"
  5. $3,280.00 Give or take lol, that include tag, and insurance, I don't save the gas reciepts, or labor. But that does include a can of bon ami. Added it up last weekend. Just got in the habit of throwing all reciepts in a file when I ballance the account.
  6. Wow, they REALLLLLLLLLLLLY Won't like me.
  7. I'd pull the head faster than I can type this.
  8. You need to adjust your pinion angle to ofset the blocks, guessing about 2 or 3 degrees and get the drive line back in line.
  9. Took me all day to get the rear drums off the first time, broke 2 pullers and 1 impact., 4 bloody knuckles, and I am a pro industrial mechanic. So hard to hold it againts sombody who can't get those drums off.
  10. no tornados closer than 5 miles, but my 05 dodge truck has 4800 worth of hail damage, my 2008 camper is gonna be totaled due to holes punched clean through it. and a new roof on a 2 year old house. But the good news is the 49' was tucked away safely in the shop.
  11. Mine at almost 750 miles and purring away, all good, no bad.
  12. I bought a $7.00 ball valve with a knife switch on it at the local hardware store, bent a little bracket and fastened cable, works perfect.
  13. Do a search on "snake oil science" it may be somthing you want to try or not.
  14. ooops, yup there it is, hmm do i need this, or am i just addicted to ebay.
