  1. Yes that is some car. In great shape. Only one I have ever seen. Met Don a few years ago at Woodward.
  2. They are popping up all over, lol 10 K gets you this one. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/1906923215.html
  3. Yep, I bet that would be fun to take to the grudge matches..
  4. That's the inlet hose from my pre oiler. Here is a older pic of it. But I was pointing to the petcock, I attached a little copper tube to run it down as to not hit anything else. Believe it or not my engine bay was very clean at one time. Will fix it up again this winter.
  5. Just a FYI. If you can see past the oil film from my front cover oil leak, lol. Here is my shutoff for the block water. 1/4 turn. Very handy. Have one on the radiator too.
  6. Also, the gasket probably let loose because of head not torqued correctly. Or way too hot at one time. If so, yes the gasket on the other cylinders, even though look OK, could be weak too, which would show a drop in compression.
  7. Next time you drain your water, drain it out of the block too. If the petcock is plugged, now would be a good time to put in a good one with a nice handle to make it easy for the next time. If you have to, extend it out with a 1/8 inch pipe. You best do the oil for sure. And to be honest, that's looks like too much build up to me. But it could just be the picture.
  8. I would do the oil too. If a blown gasket then water has gotten into the cylinders, which in turn water passes past the rings into the crankcase. Its a good rule of thumb to save head aches latter. Also, make sure you have a good torque wrench.
  9. Pretty easy and quick to pull the head and know for sure. My bet is a gasket.
  10. Glad you had a good time, and showed that big car off.
  11. Welcome, enjoy the ride,
  12. Shoot, I use to know that. Bet that show was great.
  13. Wish I was there. Best time to cruise is the week leading up to it. When people drift in from all over the country. I have lots of friends on the Blvd right now I bet. A very fun place, unless your trying to get somewhere in a hurry.
  14. Past TDC? I think you have it backwards. I am pretty sure that would make the engine turn slow. Unless I am mixed up, which can most definitely be, but I would turn your distributor and try again.
  15. Now your just gonna get everyone mad at us.
  16. Ain't it great when everything works like you hoped it would. I am lovin my AC right now, cept not many times I can use it in this cool California summer.
  17. I was told once to use a half of grapefruit and stick on the pump. The acid in it would keep the fuel pump neutralized? Maybe a old wives's tale.
  18. On my dual exhaust from Langdon's , after running the new type Smitty's (sp) for a few years I tired of the loudness in every phase. I put on glass packs for two minutes and took them right off. I settled on a "turbo" type by Flowmaster (I think). A very mellow sound, which also sounds very nice on the down slope of a rev. My car won the the "Rappin" contest in Minden NV Inliners annual picnic in June with these pipes. Sounds very sweet. And you can hear it fine if you get on it hard. Kind of sounds like a older Jag. The mufflers themselves are about 7 in wide x 3 in high x about 14 in long.
  19. I know a good contractor if you ever need any work done on it..
  20. I am lucky enough to have my significant other enjoy my car just about as much as I do. She has helped me rewire it, pull and install engines, etc. One day she sent me this in email. Not real long, but always makes me smile. The glass, radio, gas references all have laughable meanings over the years. Just thought I'd share. Like I said, OT
  21. Dryers are inexpensive, always a good way to go if you open a system up.
  22. I just put in my fronts from http://www.classicflatglass.com/ in my 52. Went in pretty nice, a good fit. But I guess that does not help you with your curved, sorry.
