  1. Fred, are you familiar with "OLD AUTOS" magazine? If not, it is a newspaper format which is put out twice a month and is printed in Ontario. It started publishing in 1987 and I have been a subscriber since 1989. It's $38.00 per year. There are a couple of advertisers of clips usually in there. Their website is "oldautos.ca". I am in no way connected with Old Autos, just a pleased subscriber. It also has an excellent classified section, which I have found to be very useful over the years. Brendan.
  2. Hi Jen, welcome, hang around here and you might get inspired to start working on your car.
  3. There is a late 40s Dodge here that has been chopped and instead of cutting in the center of the rear window and creating a mailslot back window he cut the section out below the window and kept the window the original size, which looks pretty good. The front suspension is from a Fifth Avenue. Too bad I don't have a picture.
  4. Jim, again your truck looks great. I noticed you have one of those magnetic signs on the rear of your cab. I read somewhere that they hold condensation and can cause rust, might be something to watch out for. Brendan.
  5. Nice job Jim. Are those 5 window cabs rare? I think I might know where there is one sitting in the woods, it's the only one I have ever seen around here.
  6. Arthur, that looks pretty good now. Is it necessary to have it that high? Brendan.
  7. Welcome to the forum from another truckdriver from across the pond, Canada. I took a quick look at your website link in your profile, very interesting. Brendan.
  8. I once used a stainless steel frying pan with the handle removed for the top of the air cleaner on a 55 Ford, when polished it looked pretty good.
  9. I don't think I left out a 0. I'll take another look tomorrow. What are those paint chips from?
  10. Steve, the paint code on my car is 4012, body#17740, trim code BAB, serial #9751124,it came from your part of the country,British Columbia. As for the antenna, I suspect that it came without a radio originally as there is a radio delete plate in the glove box and the antenna is aftermarket.
  11. Hi Steve, the sunvisor is made of aluminum and was made by Universal, Toronto, Ont. The original color for my car should be a little darker than it is now, maybe Marine Blue,it was painted about 30 years ago and I was told by a p.o. that it was done with 1966 Volkswagen color.
  12. Thanks for the compliments guys. Hi Frederico, what you are referring to above the windshield is a sunvisor. I don't think it came from the factory but was probably installed afterwards by the dealer or the owner. There are a couple of different styles, the one on my car was made in Canada by "Universal" another popular syle was made by "Fulton" in the U.S.
  13. Sorry James, I don't know of a website about the S10 chassis swap. I picked up an S10 chassis for a friend of mine to put under his 39 Ford and this is when we discovered that the front and back sections are fitted into each other. If you check the H.A.M.B. you might find more info.
  14. Welcome trogdaddy, you came to the right place to get info on your car, you'll find a good and helpful bunch here. Have you been to the main site of P15-D24? It has some good links which might help you.
  15. Guess I'll have to confess here too. I had a 61 Chev that had bad tie rod ends. So I cut up and old inner tube and wrapped them around them. Come to think of it that's the same car that had the plywood floor pans.
  16. The S10 chassis is adjustable for different wheel bases. If you look about near the center of the chassis you will see that the front and rear halves fit into each other. You have to grind off the weld and shorten or lengthen it to whatever wheelbase you need. Brendan
  17. Shel,Good to hear you are doing ok, the same storm struck up here in Newfoundland, but is all rain.
  18. I'm from the far east, Newfoundland. Fred I was probably near your place about three weeks ago. I was in Winnepeg for a day and unloaded at a little town called Landmark. Brendan.
