  1. nice P15 Deluxe locally

I checked this nice P15 today not far from my house. I say it's a '46 because the outside door locks have the little disc covers rather that the figure 8 shaped type, It also has 16" wheels. It is a Deluxe because of the lack of the windshield trim piece, no horn ring, no door arm rests, and non-opening rear vent windows. It has a radio grill but no radio or piece above the grille that says P L Y M O U T H. I also saw that the gas tank filler tube was sticking out further that it should be and I don't know why that is. Really nice car I think. John R
  2. deluxe or special deluxe ??

Hello and welcome. If you go to the top of the page and click resources, in the drop down, select P15 Spotters Guide. It will point out the differences of both models. John R
  3. Noises?

Another thing I would do before removing the timing chain cover is to make sure that the crankshaft pulley and the balancer are tight. You can also remover the fan belt and run the engine momentarily and see if the noise stops. I have seen cases where the belt itself was the cause of a noticeable noise. Good luck to you. John R
  4. Transmission question 1939 Plymouth

Here are several diagrams that I found in an old Plymouth book that I have. They are of the '39 Plymouth transmission with the floor mounted gear shift that you asked about. John R
  5. 1942 Business Coupe Victory model

Hi Knuckleharley, you are correct but I'm wondering if he was referring to a rear seat or the front seat backrest. Would a front seat from a "42 Dodge two door sedan work in a business coupe as well? If so, that would narrow down a parts search slightly. John R
  6. 1942 Business Coupe Victory model

I couldn't agree more. It would be labor intensive for you but well worth it I think. These '42 models were limited production so to find a survivor is golden. Best of luck to you. John R
  7. Who Is Actually Driving Their Vintage Mopars?

In 1956, I bought a '36 Plymouth coupe almost identical to the one pictured here. Mine was a rumble seat model and cost $25.00 Also pictured are my present vintage '67 Plymouth Furys. Not as vintage as most listed here but they are 50+ years old. I use them year round unless there is heavy rain or of course, salted roads. John R
  8. Rumble seat/ rear glass question?

Another super rare gem. Could you post a few photos of this? Thanks. John R
  9. Rumble seat/ rear glass question?

Great looking car. Thanks for posting the pics. John R
  10. Rumble seat/ rear glass question?

Here is a photo of a friend of mine's '37 Dodge coupe. It was originally a business coupe with a full trunk but he fabricated a rumble seat into it instead. It looks factory installed - a fantastic job. John R
  11. Rumble seat/ rear glass question?

That car is rare. As I recall, the company made many more trunk style coupes than rumble seat ones. Could you maybe post some more photos of the car, I'd love to see it. Thanks. John R
  12. I Can’t Help Falling In love...1951 Dodge

I wrote to dpollo once regarding the differences in the '51 and '52 Plymouths and received a most informative response. I also really enjoyed his articles in the Plymouth Bulletins, in patricular, The Sylvan Lake garage stories (I hope that is the correct title). Thanks to dpollo for all the helpful input. John R
