  1. Here is the contact. Terrell Machine (254) 893-2610 located in Texas. Good luck and welcome. John R
  2. Bob, I am glad to hear that everything went well for Dale. It is so amazing what can be done today for people suffering from heart disease. Wishing him a speedy recovery. John R
  3. Hi Bob, The route that I found on Google Maps that seems like one I like is Route 84. It looks like it goes to Scranton PA and then onto Route 81 to Hersey. I would like to avoid Route 95 at all costs. John R
  4. Hi Rodney, Thanks for your response. I would do that if I could but I live over 300 miles away so I will have to stay somewhere near the show if I go. I have heard that it takes several days to really see everything. If I do go, I plan to drive my '67 Fury III convertible. John R
  5. I am thinking about going to the Hersey Show this year and I know that some of the people here have attended this event. I am wondering about hotel or motel accommodations. Are the ones near the show pretty much booked up way in advance? Any info and recommendations are appreciated. John R
  6. Personally, I would try to find a new fuel pump as I believe that that is causing the gasoline getting into the oil. I would avoid a NOS pump simply because it may have a diaphragm that was not designed for the modern gasoline used today. Good luck to you. John R
  7. That is one of the funniest films ever made. How about the '48 Ford convertible that got ruined. That was kinda sad but many cars have been wrecked in films over the years. John R
  8. Ah yes. I sure remember those days fondly. I was fourteen in '56 and we used to pick up '30s and '40s cars in good roadworthy condition for under $50.00. That year I had a '39 Buick $28.00, a '36 Plymouth R/S seat coupe $25.00 and a '34 Chev '10.00. Gone but definitely not forgotten. John R
  9. Yes, mine had the Spitfire six with the M-6 transmission. It had 100,000 miles on it when I bought it and 200,000 miles when I retired it....regrettably. In the time I ran it, it had a valve job and a new timing chain. This year Chrysler is one of my favorites. John R
  10. This looks kind of like the '49 Windsor that I had. Mine had the maroon steering wheel and padded dash. It was a really nice car. John R
  11. Did you notice a difference on your '68 Fury? I have two '67 Fury's with the original alternators and they don't put out many amps at low speed with lights and heater on. Thanks for any info. John R
  12. I believe that the term turret top refers to the all steel top the models changed to in the middle thirties. Chrysler cars began this feature in 1937 replacing the top with the fabric insert from before. GM cars were the first beginning in 1935. Ford along with Chrysler went to this roof in 1937. Packard waited until 1938 to offer the all steel roof. Those old insert roof used to leak when they got older. I remember my father applying some sort of sealer on the roof of his '31 Chevrolet which worked for a brief period. John R
  13. Great photo Bob. Thanks for posting it. Spend as much time with her as you can. John R
  14. I have seen several sets on line for '60s era Chevys but they were priced way high, $500 - $1000:eek:. I wonder if you could take a set for a house window and fabricate a set for your car. It would probably be time consuming but much less expensive. Just a thought. John R
  15. That is my feeling too. A '49 Dodge sedan. I had forgotten about that commercial. A real hoot. John R
  16. That is the guy in the Plymouth Bulletin that appears in the previous post. Good luck to you Larry. John R
  17. Welcome to the board. There is a guy in the Plymouth Owners Club bulletin that sells driveshafts with the modern type of universal joints. He claims that the new driveshaft bolts right up to the car with no modifications necessary. Let me know if you want more info. John R
  18. It sure is a '37 chev. Thanks for posting these pics. John R
  19. Here is a story that I heard. Back in the 70's when Boston Bruins hockey tickets were next to impossible to get, a man who lived in the Boston suburbs went out one morning to find his car stolen. He reported it to the police and waited. Three days later the man went out first thing in the morning and low and behold, his car was returned. When he open the door, there was a note attached to the steering wheel with two Bruins tickets clipped to it.The note read: SORRY WE TOOK YOUR CAR. PLEASE USE THESE TICKETS AND HAVE A GOOD TIME. The man and his wife went to the game on the following evening and returned home to find their house cleaned out. Not a good thing. John R
  20. Ed, I am interested in any 1955 Hot Rod issues that you have. PM me if you want. John R plymfuryfury@yahoo.com
  21. Excellent work Bob. An undertaking like this commendable. Please show more photos as the job progresses. Thanks for posting. John R
  22. How about a '37 Chrysler. I say this because the one in the photo I have posted has the bumper with the ripples on only part of it like the one shown in Greg's picture. The DeSoto has the ripples on the entire bumper. I'm sorry for the big picture. I couldn't get it to shrink. Robert KB, your car is superb, a real beauty. John R
  23. I see fourteen. Actually fifteen, I missed the one behind the P15 on the far right. Nice pic. Thanks for posting it. John R
  24. Great news Bob. Congratulations to you and your family. My granddaughter will be 21 this December. They grow up quickly. John R
