  1. Harbor Freight makes a neon light that is a great spark checker. The neon lights when there is a spark available. However this very thing has happened to me. I recall that the carb float was set wrong and the intake manifold was immediately flooded. Have a look down the carb and see if there is gas in there. Or take out a plug to see if it is covered with gas. No mater how much you crank the engine it will never "POP".
  2. The outside rocker panels I got from RockAuto have all of the right curves. You still have to cut the square holes for the rocker panel moulding clips. RA part numbers CCC29502L and CCC29502R, $31.79 each, 290012, $23.79 each for the inside rocker panels. I noticed that they have the floor pans also. All fit 1949 thru 1952.
  3. I purchased the outside rocker panels from RockAuto and they fit very nice. The inside rocker panels I made on a sheetmetal brake, not too difficult as only two bends are needed.. The floor I made from flat sheetmetal stock and form fitted them as needed. Have fun with your project. Ken
  4. Where there is heat there is resistance. Clean up the corrosion.
  5. I would encourage you to join the Plymouth Owners Club and also the Dairyland Region of the POC. Information on the Dairyland Region can be found at http://clubs.hemmings.com/frameset.cfm?club=dairylandplymouthclub Exactly where are you located? wheelnut@tds.net
  6. Phil, See your personal messages. Contact me and I will help you with your brakes. I'm also in central WI.
  7. What a great idea, Ed. I'll go to get some tomorrow. What good ideas are there for the petal draft shields?
  8. I am working on a 1952 Plymouth and have replaced the petal floor pan. What should I use for a gasket around the opening? What is a source of the clutch and brake pedal draft seals? I thought of making one but was stuck for what material to use. Thank you for your help?
  9. Have a look. How easily people forget! http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=KTb6qdPu8JE
  10. I have manifolds for a 1951/52 Plymouth, 218 cu in engine. You would need manifolds from 1941 and back, 201 cu in engines.
  11. Try these: http://www.frenchlakeautoparts.com/ West of Minneapolis, MN http://www.jacksautoranch.com/frame.htm Watertrown, WI OR find one in your area with this web site: http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-rods-rat-rods/Junk-Yards-Salvage-Yards-Auto-Recyclers.asp
  12. These cars came standard with a Presto-matic transmission. You did not say what body style it is. The club coupe had 20,050 made, 4-dr sedan-78,199 made, 2-dr Newport- 9,925. Windsor was the 2nd upgrade style. Base car was the Royal, then the Windsor, then Saratoga, last the New Yorker. Number on the 6 cylinder engine should be C48*xxxxxx, the 8 cylinder were C49*xxxxxx.
  13. Neto, I have the lower splash guards installed on my 1940 Plymouth. I'm not sure of their purpose, but keeping the engine clean would be one of them. The biggest thing that would be affected would be the air flow around the engine. The Plymouth engineers perhaps though the shield would help. I have painted them black. Ken
  14. There is one on eBay right now that is in Milwaukee, WI $475 I know the seller. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380257867150&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  15. Neal Riddle has an ad in the Plymouth Bulletin for decals 1937 to 1954. seaplym@hotmail.com What model and year is your woodie? Do you have any idea of the model number of the heater? I might have a heater red tag.
