  2. Plymothy Adams has a nice museum in beautiful downtown ELKO GA. i have spent a lot of time there . along with the historic automobile items you can experience several lively ghost on the tour , believe me ! and you will never forget the dead animal exhibit again believe me ! and for few more dollars at the end of a long day of back breaking labor which is required for the entry fee , Plymouthy will feed you his award winning red rice and ice cream dinner. you can even park in his pecan orchard and sleep in your vehicle no hotel required . make your reservations now .
  3. It is for the spare tire , this one is for a 1949 Plymouth Woodie Wagon and it take 3 , spare tire is in the tail gate this lug bolt / screw would be the same on any of the 49 - 50 Dodge , Plymouth , Desoto, Chrysler wagons with the spare tire in the tail gate . and maybe other year Mopar wagons too ? If anybody runs across any i could use a few .
  4. I knew you would have an answer for me .
  5. Which cars used these short 3 Speed transmission`s .....the one pictured looks to be from a PLY.
  6. I was told my another person that these aren`t really Canadian cars but cars that were built in Canada for export ? so i guess if that is so some of them didn`t get exported and that USA and Canadian Dodge & Plymouth`s are the same models just big blocks in Canada. This seems really confusing ?
  7. Can someone set me straight in the 1940`s & 50`s didn`t Canada have Plymouth cars with a Dodge grille & badging & visa versa ? Like the one pictured below .
  8. Thanx for the info i thought so just wanted to confirm ...
  9. Can someone tell me if all of the Desoto 6cyl. motor`s are 25" in length ? Thanx
  10. Is there anyone on here that lives close to Knoxville, Tn. ?
  11. I think it is what ED said but i can`t remember the entire story behind it . also i think if you examine the pix it looks like the bell housing may be on there without the bottom cover on it . i thought the same thing about that bar under the clutch is it holding it up and how is the transmission going in ? these pix were posted here on this forum several years back and after searching i could not find the information , i remembered saving them on my old laptop so i dug it up and found them was hoping the person who did this work would see them and fill us in . on closer examination i don`t think that is a metal bar it is the bottom part of the B.H. , also the front part of the adapter that bolts to the B.H. should be Z`D down other wise it is sitting up a little higher than it should ? and will the original cross member may be in the way of the transmission ? i`ll go climb under a car and check this out . but hopefully we will find the designer and get some answers because i would like to do something like this . Maybe Plymouthy or ED can come up with some ideas ?
  12. Does anyone recognize these pictures of the cross members adapters ?
  13. BINGO ! I found a solution all the Parts store carry a lower hose that is long enough to work and well over a foot at 14.25" for 10.79 and Oriellys has one that is over 20" long for 15.99 .
  14. Thanx for the info MERLE ..... and TIM u r just to damn funny i`m rolling on the floor . Moral of this story is Radiator hose is expensive ! oh well .
  15. Thanx Don the picture is spot on ,,, i searched for Radiator hose not gas rated hose and that`s when all these crazy prices came up .. i think the cheapest i found was at least 10.00 a foot ? still seems a little high , i`ll keep looking around till i find a solution .
  16. All these old flat heads are basically the same as far as hoses go ? but this one is a 1954 230 . YEA everyone has the hoses you can buy it anywhere , you just have to take out a loan to pay for it ? i`ve seen it as high as 40.00 a foot ? As far as the flex hose MR. Dead Dear & Squirrel Carccus i have those and keep them in the car for a spare and they work great and are cheap also a good tip . But wanted the straight hose so i could use the metal radiator pipe in between . inside size is 1 1/2 " .
