  1. Just read (and cross posted on the Plymouth/Dodge forum) that Langdon's Stovebolt now sells newly designed cast dual exhaust manifolds for Desoto and Chrysler 25" blocks in addition to the Fenton syle Dodge/Plymouth headers that he as been selling. http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/parts-faqs/spitfire-headers/
  2. Just saw that Langdon's Stovebolt now sells cast dual exhaust manifolds for Desoto and Chrysler 25" blocks. http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/store/online-catalog/#!/Chrysler-Spitfire-Headers-PRE-ORDER/p/52183451/category=412417 Langdon has had them for the Dodge and Plymouth blocks but now we can put them on our 25" blocks too.
  3. Interesting discussion! Thanks for the lively input. All set for this year's October meet.
  4. Need space(s) for Hershey 2012. If you have any leads, please call at: 586-739-9601. Thanks!!
  5. Yes, you have to move the radiator 2" forward for the additional clearance. Don C. does have a lot of helpful information in his postings. Might want to recheck that info too using the search function. This was a popular upgrade for Plymouth/Dodge guys in the 40's & 50's. I put a 265 in place of the 218 in my '37 Dodge MC.
  6. My friend is rebuilding a 25" IND engine. I already have a 265 and a 218 and don't need another. Right now it is a 251 but he has matching crank and rods that would convert it into a 265 during the build. Anyone interested should call 586-739-9601. Early enough in rebuild to allow for some modifications. Engine is located in SE Michigan.
  7. Thanks, Todd. Ordered the part from NAPA this morning. That's the number that I thought that I would need but wanted to get input from someone who actually has replaced one and knows that it will fit.
  8. Figured it would have been posted before but checked search on forum and could not find latest part number for throwout bearing for my '37 Dodge MC. Number I have from parts book is 581499. Looks like they were used in Dodge trucks from '35 to '56. From what I can tell it may be a N1054 or N1087 Anyone know the correct replacement part number? Thanks
  9. Great job! Super sound. Love your engine and tach.
  10. I also converted my 25" 218 to an IND 251. While rebuilding the 251 we put in an IND 265 crank and rods. With the added HP and torque of the 265, I went with a light weight 4 bolt flywheel. Had a machinist drill out additional holes to fit the extra bolts on the 265 crank. No problems with holes lining up. I had to use a shorter starter to give me additional clearance for the full flow oil filter that bolts on the ignition side of the block. My IND block had a gear driven cam instead of chain driven. Used a cam off of a 265 crown marine block. Little more lift and duration than stock cam but still mild enough to have a smooth idle. You will definitely notice the extra cubic inches.
  11. Talked with my friend last night. He just pulled a 265 Chrysler Industrial crank and matching rods from a 25" block. I am mentioning this because when I rebuilt my 25" Dodge block, I put in the 265 rods and crank to up the cubic inches. He also has a bare 230 Plymouth block. You can reach him at: 586-739-9601
  12. Don't see many 1937 Plymouths! Any more photos?
  13. Nice looking Engine and tranny. What are the gear ratios of your T-5?
  14. Some photos from Truck Night on August 10th at the WPC museum in Auburn Hills, MI. Thanks to my brother, Bruce for the photos. https://picasaweb.google.com/110808817090254771768/20110810?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCOzcrOeauOWxHQ&feat=directlink&gsessionid=dNZn72jioB5I_0LSYsEN8A
  15. What a neat car and a great find. Like the color too. I'd keep it as a driver.
  16. I was so involved with everyone else's trucks that I forgot to take photos of mine! Thought about it on my way home back to Parma, OH during a brief downpour North of Columbus on I 71. (Found out the "restored" '37 leaks as much as when I drove with my grandfather as a kid. At least grandpa knew enough to have a few rags on board.) Inliners Internationl Ohio Chapter Picnic coming up this Saturday at Metzger Park in Westerville, Ohio (by Columbus). Anyone interested please contact Bob or Alice Garrett 614 891-0499. Non members and their guests are welcome.

  18. 183 miles from Parma, OH to Young's Jersey Dairy Farm in Yellow Springs, OH. Mapquest says 3 hrs. and 5 mins. May be longer if it's really hot and I take several pit stops. I think we may spend the night in the area and drive back to Parma the next day. In a couple weeks, I will be heading to the Northern Suburbs of Detroit (Utica) for the Woodward Cruise. Hopefully the day won't be ruined by rain. Looks like only a chance of showers in the long range forecast.
  19. Vintage Truck Magazine is having its 10th annual truck show in Yellow Springs, Ohio Saturday August 6 at Young's Jersey Dairy Farm. No registration fee. Anyone going? I plan on driving the '37 MC. http://youngsdairy.com/truck-show
  20. Beautiful engine. I like all the mods you've made to it.
  21. The 1937 and 1938 Dodge 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks came with the 25" block and were 218 CI. Not to be confused with the Dodge autos in '37 and '38 which had a 23" block and were also listed as 218 CI. The Plymouth trucks during those two years used a 23" block. This odd change in engine choices allowed me to drop an IND 265 block (25") with no modifications needed to the radiator. In 1939 Dodge went back to the 23" block.
  22. Thanks Lee I've PM'd you about the labels. Here's what they look like now. I had to replace the throttle knob and need to replace the red high beam indicator on the headlight knob.
