  1. I think I will follow your example and rebuild with a backup spare. There may be a rebuilder here in Indy. Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions. Ken, Indy B2-HHMA131
  2. Wow! That was a quick response! Here is a pic from the 1950 Dodge Truck Shop Manual. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/khfoit/waterpumppn1064925.jpg Ken, Indy
  3. I need a water pump for my B2-HHMA131. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/khfoit/1950Dodge2-ton.jpg The factory part number is 1064-925. The NAPA number is 5541. It is the pump that has the inlet and outlet tubes as a casting, rather than the flat top model used on PU's and 1 ton's. The problem is neither Carquest nor NAPA stock this pump anymore. Does anyone have a lead to a part house that might carry this pump? Ken, Indy
  4. Thanks for the info.I think I will call Roberts to confirm that they don't have a glove box in our years. If all else fails, I make one. Ken, Indy
  5. I need a glove box for a 1950 B2-HHMA. I think all the glove boxes are the same for all Dodge trucks from 1948 through 1953. Maybe beyond 1953. Roberts Motor parts has them for the years 1939-47 for $22, but not in our years. Atlas has them for $37+10 S&H. Is there anything else around that is less expensive? I may have to modify a small plastic waste basket if all else fails. Any Ideas? Ken, Indy
  6. I've been on a vacation. If you need info that you think I can supply, please contact me off net at: khfoit at yahoo dot com. Ken, Indy
  7. This axle is NOT from a 1-1/2 ton truck. Not beefy enough. I would say that it is from a car front end of the 30's. Those were popular trailer axles, but sat a little high and would tilt on the turns allowing the tire to rub the side of the trailer. You might be able to ID the make by the wheels and lug nut patterns. If it has left-hand threads on the lug nuts (bolts) of one side, it is probably a Chrysler product.
  8. Looks like it is the German method for me. That's a great one, Merle. I'll remember that. :0) Ken, Indy
  9. Thanks for the calculator. My air compressor and all my air tools were stolen. Unfortunately I have $500 deductible insurance and naturally the tools stolen were estimated at about $575. Sigh. My air impact wrench was a 3/4" drive 750 ft# model that is no longer available. I guess a 500 ft# model will be a substitute. Looks like I may have been hammering those old Budd lug nuts too tight. As an aside, I have access to a 1" drive 1200 ft# inpact wrench. Is there a way to limit the torque on this tool? There is a 3 speed switch but I don't think that limits the torque. Ken, Indy
  10. Does anyone have the lug nut torque for a B2-HHMA131? It is a 1950 2-ton COE with dual wheels. The front tires are 8.25x20's and the rear duals are 9.00x20's. Ken, Indy
  11. I believe that these holes were for support bars for the grill guard (brush buster) accessory. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/khfoit/79a5.jpg I was sent this picture from someone on this forum. I think it was Reg Evans. If you would like to see other pictures of the grill guards, contact me off net. khfoit at yahoo.com Ken, Indy
  12. This has all been very interesting as I am think about painting my 1950 B2-HHMA131 Dodge Truck Dark Green and black. None of the paint shops I have approached know what I am talking about. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/khfoit/COE042806001.jpg This is my first post on the new forum. I'm not sure how to post pictures. Ken, Indy
