  1. I have the choke linkage hooked up to both my B&B's but I have never had to use the chokes. John Burke is sending me the filters he was using. Here is an old picture I have in my files. Hope they will fit my 7'5" centers.
  2. Those of us going to Tulsa ahould be able to dupicate this shot. Cool pictures!
  3. Pictured is the African Queen. Hard to tell where the pedal placement is but the gearshift is on the wrong side of the wheel.
  4. Chuck; Welcome aboard. There are a few forum members in the Columbus area. I have a brother in law who lives in Pataskala. There was a pea green P-15 coupe for sale not far from him. Is this the car you bought?
  5. Where is Lee "roadkillontheweb" Exline when you need him. I used to work with a guy who always carried a butcher knife in his car. When he happened on a hunk of road kill he would stop and see if there was any body heat present. He used this body heat as a freshness indicator. If it was warm he commenced hacking away at the prime cuts.
  6. Thanks Marty; I have been using McMaster Carr for years. They are top notch and most orders arrive the next day. John Burke told me he had an overcenter linkage problem when the pedal was pushed far enough to open the secondary. I have placed a call to Tom Langdon to see what his linkage options are. I also need a pair of two to one carburetor base adapters and I understand he sells them. When you mention a "short throw" on your linkage setup is it difficult to maintain a constant road speed? How does that effect drive ability? How do the electric chokes work? Is there a thermocouple regulated voltage supply or a constant voltage supply to the chokes? Do you really need the chokes?
  7. Chet; Interesting that you posted the poll on this forum 4/6/2007 at 8:27 PM. During that time 47 folks have voted, 35 have replied, and 397 have viewed this thread. You posted the poll on the POC forum 4/8/2007 at 9:30 AM. During that time 17 folks have voted, 4 have replied, and 56 have viewed the thread. Not sure what these numbers mean except there is a lot more traffic on this forum than there is on the POC forum. And as expected the vote results to date on the POC forum is the opposite of the results on this forum. Hope you did not stir up too big of a hornets nest.
  8. I believe if you read the responses in your original posting that Ed mentioned he and his dad have done that many times.
  9. Dennis; If we are indeed a club I have a couple of thoughts on that. When I renewed the insurance for my Plymouth one of the questions on the renewal form was "are you a member of any club?" I believe there is a discount on insurance rates for club membership. Would the group meeting held at Tim Adams stable in Georgia be a club function? Would the meeting with this second pictured crew at a Manassas, Virginia car show be considered a club function? I could list several more potential club functions. Should we formalize?
  10. It looks like there is no glass in the windshield as a deer foot is sticking through. Two bucks and 3 poached does? I was never able to figure out how one can poach a doe and an egg. Check the trunk for shine.
  11. Marty; Thanks for the picture and insight. I was just out in the garage looking at the electric chokes and wondering how to connect them. The choke plates have been removed from these carburetors but John sent them along in a plastic box. John sent 3 carburetors but I will only use two. My current intake manifold is set up on 7.5 inch centers for the two Carter B&B's I am running now. Where did you get your throttle linkage hardware? I like the idea of progressive secondarys.
  12. Christopher; Good to hear from you. Sounds as if you have a slight exhaust leak allowing fresh air to enter the exhaust system and ignite bits of unburned fuel.
  13. Not a POC member. I do not know of any "local" chapters. I do not have a "factory" original car and would be excluded from any judging not that collecting trophies is my goal. It is my opinion that most trophies are bought (the person who spends the most money wins) and not earned (by the person who actually does the work). I have been slandered on the POC forum interestingly by a POC forum guru who has a car more severely modified than my car but he spent the big bucks to have it built as opposed to my shade tree engineering. I rarely visit the POC forum anymore. The liberal attitude that this forum (are we a club?) promotes is much more to my liking. The daily postings made to this forum are in my opinion much better than any clubs by-monthly newsletter. I have probably had more face to face meetings with members of this forum than most POC members have had with other POC members.
  14. Ed; What picture is your picture?
  15. John; Package arrived somewhat worse for wear. Part of the cow is visible. But all six barrels arrived intact complete with the cow skin. Looks like I have my work cut out to mount all three. Will not happen until after Tulsa. Once again thanks a bunch! This will be a fun project. I can hear it MOO already:p
  16. It is yours if you want it. Has a groove where the seal rides. A speedy sleeve is in order. Let me know and I will send it.
  17. Pete; My original P-15 218CI engine had a six bolt damper (the unpainted one you pictured). Are you sure your front hub has only two bolt holes? The six holes are not symetric. One or more holes is drilled off center. The damper will only bolt on one way. I may have a spare hub. I will go look. I do not have a spare damper as I sold it to a forum member a while back. I had to "skinny up" the damper I have on my engine so my RACE WINNING BIG BLOCK FULL RACE DESOTO ENGINE would fit in my car.
  18. 1) I am driving my Plymouth to Tulsa 2) I am going but not driving my Plymouth 3) I am not going
  19. No package yet. I will check when I get home this evening. Thanks in advance:)
